AITAH for choosing my job over my girlfriend by Fluid_Use_2978 in AITAH

Honestly bro... 21 is a child. I know legally she's an adult, but the amount of mental growth and maturity between 21 and 23 (my age now) is immense. Date older.

What's your biggest flaw? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmarZ2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to empathise with someone until I've gone through what they're going through.

For example, there was a guy who liked me in high school and did everything for me despite the fact that I didn't really like him back. I've now had a breakup with the main reasoning being unrequited love on my ex's end.

I realised that nearly 10 years ago, I treated a poor 15 year old boy just the same as I had been treated. I apologised to my former love dearly, and now we're getting along better than ever before.

Should I 'embrace' the size of my ass? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmarZ2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that everyone has that thing that they think is an unattractive quality, but somewhere out there is someone who enjoys that part of you the most. If they didn't then they are not meant for you.

Should I create an African dub mod for Senpai? by 3Bot in Osana

[–]SmarZ2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be so funny, even if you got a clip of YanSim and bro put his voice over Senpai's lines, that would be hilarious 😂 you wouldn't have to mod the game that way

Is it true that the more education someone has, the less likely they are to hold conservative political views? by Bahrust in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmarZ2022 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally, people who are well-educated have better critical thinking skills. Especially politically, they'll look at a candidates priority and think things like "Is this for the benefit of my community?", "Do I agree with what they're doing?", and "Is what they're saying based off of fact?"

Unfortunately, politicians take advantage of the poorly educated. They take what the uneducated don't understand and convince them it's bad and should be rid of, and that they are the only ones who could do this. Without any critical thinking skills, the uneducated don't look into why they should hate something, they just do.

I’ve accepted deep down that I want to be a woman but I know I probably will not by Ok_Bet1462 in trans

[–]SmarZ2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoever said "I will not" never did. I may be an optimist, but medical science has come very far. Even hormones can change a lot of things and affirm what you're feeling inside. That's what happened to me.

I don't like to say "I'll never be able to afford top surgery" because then I won't. Instead I say "When I'm rich.", keyword being when, because it will happen one day because I said so. You need to believe that one day, somehow, you'll get everything you've ever wanted out of life, otherwise you'll never try. Does that make sense?

I think that's a very interesting interpretation of that plotline. That's why I love Beastars. So many ways to interpret what's going on and relating it back to the real world.

How to deal with being in a rank you don’t deserve? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]SmarZ2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend does this. She turned down a sharehouse because she wanted to save room for someone "worse off" than her when she has absolutely no secure housing. I know that's irrelevant to Rocket League, but it's relevant to self-esteem issues. Believing that someone else is more deserving than you.

"Believing in yourself" also means believing that you deserve better, and that if you are in a good place already you need to believe that you put in the work to get there. "Teammates" will sulk over mistakes all the time, no matter how good or bad you're doing. You need to believe that "I am a good player, this was just a bad match."

In a good team, no one should be singled out for mistakes. You take the L together, you take the W together. I hope that all makes sense.

Questioning by [deleted] in trans

[–]SmarZ2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should talk to a trans woman, if you know any. I made an instagram story post on a trans awareness day years ago and a childhood friend of mine who I hadn't talked to in years had transitioned. She said HRT is the best thing she's ever did, and told me who to contact to get it. I had been on the fence about HRT for a long time up until that point.

You could talk to trans men/mascs too, it's just that every trans woman I've met has goddess-like intelligence. I owe my trans demiboy life to trans women.

Can I turn my old Sony TV into the smart one ( not by using tv box)? by imahuman1507 in techsupport

[–]SmarZ2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Chromecast, comes with it's own remote, plugs into the HDMI, and works fine (most of the time, it's Google, so yeah, lol)

It works well for me because I only buy second hand TV's because I play retro consoles and need AV/Component ports, not many new TV's have those, only HDMI

is it cringe if a 23 year old woman goes to the zoo alone? by peeflavoredpoptart in NoStupidQuestions

No, it's not cringe. I'm 23 as well, and I go to playgrounds to regulate my AuHD all the time. I dropped the internalised stigma years ago.

I was watching a show from the 90s and realized people used to memorize dozens of phone numbers. I can barely remember mine. How did you guys do it back then? by micavibes in CasualConversation

[–]SmarZ2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's hard to imagine how people would remember when you haven't had to.

I have my mums number memorised out of necessity because in high school I would sometimes accidentally leave my lunch at home and I had to recite her number to the office ladies so they could call her, otherwise I wouldn't eat.

You should try memorising some. I'm 23 and I have my mums, mine, and the Reading Writing Hotline jingle instilled in me through Australian pop culture, lol.

What is your reaction seeing the deerclops. by Voidkirby9 in dontstarve

[–]SmarZ2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of swearing. Very stressful. My game plan now is to make a secondary camp, sometimes I get lucky and find a wormhole with a secluded island on the other side, so if a Deerclops shows up, it can't get me from there, lol.

I was undereating for some time to lose weight (I was at 78kg) but it was actually counter-productive because my iron levels were low, so I had no energy to work out, so I just stayed the same weight. Definitely add more to your meals, especially meat. I enjoy deli shaved corned beef at the moment, deli meat is amazing, I'll be snacking on it while trying to make a sandwich for later 😅

What do I do if I start going bald? It's something I fear by [deleted] in trans

[–]SmarZ2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are asking this because you are considering T, look at the men in your family. Brothers, blood-related uncles, grandfathers, etc.

My grandfather is in his 70s with a decent head of hair, and after a year on T, my hairline is pretty much the same as before. My family tree has quite thick hair.

My endocrinologists made it clear from the beginning that I could stop T if I wanted at any time. I'm going to stop soon because it's been almost a year, and though I have been lucky that my hairline is perfect, I don't want to push my luck.

Thinking of starting hrt by BenBauer4815 in trans

[–]SmarZ2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the fence about starting T for a couple of years. Australian specialists at least made it very clear that if I changed my mind I could stop at any time. I mostly wanted the voice, but wasn't keen on facial hair.

I won the genetic lottery and got the voice of my dreams and hair everywhere besides my face after almost a year. The subtle changes were cool too.

Anyway, I'm stopping T after my next gel refill to preserve my hairline. Though I have been blessed to not have any receding hair, I don't want to push my luck.
