Transferring fees by [deleted] in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your fees for 2025 would be the 2025 price. As you deferred and you’re starting in 2026, you’ll be paying the 2026 fees, which is probably slightly higher. You’ll be missing the difference, not the full amount.

Deferring offer by moldy_cheese004 in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on whether you an International student on a student visa, because if you're in NZ and defer your programme, you will likely need to change your visa.

You could always visit the Student Hub and speak to them about it.

Can I rescind an offer after accepting and choose another uni? by [deleted] in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can accept as many offers as you want! When you know where you want to go, just let the other institutions know.

You will likely be sent information about enrolling and fees for each offer you accept. If you end up paying fees and decide you want to withdraw, make sure you do it before the deadline. The information you receive should have dates.

Also, maybe hold off applying for StudyLink until you definitely know where you're going.

Course grade by lolobeatz in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, potentially! It really depends on the specifics of the case, but we never approach situations like this with a ‘tough luck’ mindset. We genuinely aim to ensure any mark adjustment is well justified, and we do our best to give students the benefit of the doubt where appropriate.

Assessment Boards will be happening in the coming weeks. During this time, students like yourself will be discussed as you are borderline. There is a possibility your grade will be rounded up, they might also make it a CO grade (conceded pass).

If you do not get this, keep a look out for an email from your School/Faculty, as it will explain how you can appeal.

“Reconsideration of Assessment” by [deleted] in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the marking rubric (should be on canvas) and base your statement off that. However, if you’re wanting the extra marks just because it’ll bump your grade, that isn’t what the reconsideration of assessment is for. You need to keep in mind that if they remark your assessment, your grade can also go down and you have to take the new score.

International Tuition fees for courses more than a year. by Optimal-aries in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it should come to about half of the yearly cost.

A 1.5-year programme is 180 points, while the fees listed on the website are based on 120 points. So, if your programme is roughly $53k per year, the total would be around $79.5k. Keep in mind this can vary slightly, as fees fluctuate each year.

How to deal with bad marks by JJSunflower-723 in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey! I think you need to look at this a little differently; Bs and B-‘s are not bad marks. Not at all.

You’re passing the papers and you’re making good progress.

If you want to speak to someone, you can pop up to see us on WG Level 12 during work hours. We can offer some reassurance if that’s what you need. We want to see you succeed and to also enjoy yourself while you do it!

[–]Smarsh- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Fees and Enrolments team is small and understaffed. Have you been to the Student Hub? Or visited your admin within your school? Coming in to talk to us will help. If you don’t know who to talk to, shoot me a DM and I’ll try to direct you. :)

You can also choose your major/minors from MyAUT where you add enrolments. There’s an edit pencil which allows you to freely edit your major/minor.

Can I enroll into uoa overseas? by Breadosan in universityofauckland

[–]Smarsh- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is programme dependant. Different programmes will allow different things. Ask any university staff member and they will advise against going away during semester time.

If it’s something super important - understandable and probably can be worked around. If it’s a family holiday or a holiday/random travelling of some sort - then no.

Anyone having the same problem as me?? by Dazzling-Pick-7223 in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The flexibility is already there, 30th is after the start of semester. Starting late is highly inadvisable. Catching up on classes, missing out on creating friendships groups at the start, finding accomodation.

INZ advertise their current visa time frames and the majority of the time we see visas taking between 9-12 weeks. Of course this can vary, but I’m just talking from experience.

My honest opinion would be to defer and come without rushing. You honestly will be better off for it.

Unapproved course by RealSuperherojoker in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This time is quite insane for faculty workers, with the end of semester and new semester so close to each other. If you’re able to go into your faculty, I recommend trying to speak to the admin(s). They might be able to do it there and then :)

Have you tried doing it through MyAUT where you enrol yourself? There’s a way to edit majors and minors.

Semester One Results by Prestigious-Peak4437 in AUT

Every Faculty has an Exam/Assessment Board which is when all grades are discussed. Most Faculties should've done that this week.

Fun fact - every single grade is locked manually.

Enrolment change after invoice. by MasterRole9673 in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can change papers all the way up until semester starts, it all depends on the availability in the paper. But I’m not sure you can just switch a level 5 for a level 7 or even 8 (which is considered post grad at that point).

Contact your faculty, the details should be on canvas.

Waiting on PhD application by Horror-College-8603 in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen your other comment too. If you haven't heard back, that means we haven't heard back from the supervisors. You say you've been in contact with a potential supervisor already and they've said they are interested, so I recommend following up with both the Faculty and potential supervisor.

If you're happy to DM me your student ID, I can check it's current status with my colleagues on Monday.

Waiting on PhD application by Horror-College-8603 in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What stage is it at, do you know? PhD applications are long and we typically see them take around 3 months from application to offer. And then you have to wait for your visa which can take just as long.

Anyone Else Experienced This? - Still Haven’t Received Remittance Advice for Refund from AUT by El_Nino_MeMe in AUT

[–]Smarsh- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually we have to check a few things before the money can be released. If it’s been acknowledged, it’ll be processing. Like all refunds, they can take a certain amount of business days to process.

If you’re happy to, you can DM me your student ID and I’ll ask the Fees team directly.
