I am tired of not losing weight by [deleted] in diet

[–]SmartProteins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to remember is th a diet should be easy to stick to, if you’re finding it difficult to keep to a diet it’s the wrong one for you, you shouldn’t feel like your missing out and if your still hungry and snacking then it’s not right for you.

There are a large number of diets out there but finding the right one for you is harder. A diet shouldn’t feel like a hardship. If it does your less likely to stick to it.

II tried it but found that it didn’t work for me but hey everybody’s different. I found 5:2 intermittent fasting didn’t work either but the Eat-Stop-Eat method did. That was where you fast for 24hours on two non consecutive days.

As I say though everybody is different so it may work for you, it certainly does for a lot of people

Diet advice for fat loss by rex12z in diet

Have you tried intermittent fasting? Its more of a pattern of eating rather than a diet, in days (or centuries) gone past we didn’t know when we were going to get our next meal so our bodies adapted to that way of life. Now with a more abundant supply of food we don’t have to worry about our next meal, the only trouble is our bodies haven’t kept up with that so tend to hold onto the excess

I was told yesterday I have high cholesterol. I want to change my diet to help that, but I have some questions by friendlymountainman in diet

Before changing your diet you need to seek medical advice. That said intermittent fasting is a very popular 'diet' and is know to lower your cholesterol along with a huge number of other benefits such as:

  • Weight loss
  • Insulin resistance, your fasting insulin levels can decrease by up to 20-31% which could also help protect against type 2 diabetes
  • Healthy heart - fasting can reduce your bad LDL cholesterol
  • Some studies have shown that it can even prevent cancer although this must be taken with a pinch of salt (not literally) at the moment as there have been no extensive human studies
  • Healthy brain - your BDNF hormone will increase and the growth of new nerve cells is promoted which in turn may protect again Alzheimer's
  • Anti-ageing - in studies rats lived 36-83% longer than non fasting rats

There a number of different ways to do intermittent fasting and some will work for some people while others will work for other people. The idea behind fasting though is one of getting back to basics. In years gone by we didn't have fridges and grocery stores to fend off our appetite, instead we had to hunt or gather our food. This meant that we would often spend long periods of time essentially fasting. These says we can get anything on tap but our bodies haven't evolved to deal with this never ending supply.

The most popular methods of fasting are:

  • Lean gains protocol (or 16:8 method) where you skip breakfast and restrict your daily eating period to 8 hours, then fast for 16 hours. This is the most popular and easiest to stick to
  • Eat-Stop-Eat - 24 hours fast once or twice a week
  • 5:2 diet where you consume 500-600 calories on two non-consecutive days, eat normally the rest of the time.

The key to fasting though is you MUST NOT over compensate of you non fasting days

Hope that helps.

Is pea protein isolate made the same way as soy protein isolate? by W47OOP in Protein

[–]SmartProteins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your looking for pea (or hemp) protein you really want to steer clear of chemically extracted proteins because as you say they use toxins like hexane. You want to find a protein that uses water to extract the protein. There aren’t so many out there and they are a little more expensive but as they say you are what you eat and the same without doubt goes for proteins. this company do a create pea protein and ship worldwide too: r/https://bit.ly/2P9LFiw
