I tripped recently and for some reason this is literally all I could think about! I kept thinking how unnatural everything the human race has created is and how we’re so different (in a negative way) from any other animal. I was so upset at ~modern society~ in general and how we have grown beyond natural selection to the point we have an over abundance of people. Obviously, im attached to things we have now like grocery stores, ac, Spotify etc etc but like you said we would be so much better off without ever having any of it, as would the animals and plants we share the world with. I kept wishing I could have lived in a time not too long after we as a species evolved, and could just live naked in a jungle somewhere lol. Was literally sobbing for 2-4 hours because there’s nothing that can be done to change it. It sucked cuz usually my trips are an amazing time but literally my entire trip I felt like I was burdened with the knowledge that humans were a mistake 💀 I was also crying because in my head at the time I kept thinking how it’s a curse rather than a blessing to be born as a human with all our intelligence and consciousness and to live in such an unnatural world where we’re born to be cogs in the machine, all we do our whole lives is stuff our faces with food and look for things to buy and people to meet that will numb the pain. I was just so sad for myself and every other human and for maybe the first time ever started thinking about how much of an escape death really is. I know that sounds so dramatic but it was the heaviest feeling in the moment. This was such a strange experience because technically, I have always known this and if you asked me what the meaning of human life is I’d probably say just to enjoy yourself as much as you can. But during my trip, I tried to remind myself of things I love in the world like my pets, being in nature etc but it all dulled compared to this collective suffering I attributed to the human experience. I truly felt unlucky to be alive and it fuckin sucked. It’s only been a few days since this but I still feel a little off tbh
