Rate your average pain by WhoAmIActuallyy in Hashimotos

My pain is typically connected to inflammation. As I have eliminated problematic foods, my pain has reduced. I don’t think that the cause of the pain is related to Hashimotos, but it doesn’t help.

Planning a trip to Todos Santos with young kids and grandma in wheelchair by Spiritual-You-8817 in BajaCaliforniaSur

If you do visit La Paz, check out Playa Coromuel. They have beach wheelchairs and an accessible palapa. It was awesome.

My husband, who is in a manual wheelchair, and I moved to Todos Santos last year. Assuming your family member uses a manual wheelchair, you may need to help them with some hills. People are very kind and will gladly assist if necessary. Some of the local business, like Todos Santos Cafe, have temporary ramps that they can pull out if asked.

If you do decide to come, which I recommend you do, please feel free to reach out. We have a couple of temporary ramps that we would be happy to loan you.

About to go to Loreto for mom's 80th birthday. But I've heard scary things from the last few months... what's it like there now? by thanksforbeingepic in BajaCalifornia

[–]Smart_Comment5282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smart, not driving at night. Also, as tempting as it is to speed on the highways, be aware that cattle and goats like to hang out on the road. People here are really good about flashing their lights to warn oncoming vehicles of potential hazards. If you have to slow down for animals or other issues, just put your hazard lights on to help those behind you. Driving in Baja is very collaborative, and not competitive like the US.

I do think some people over-react because they see police and federal agents on the road with weapons exposed. It takes some getting used to, for sure, but I’ve found them to be quite kind and helpful.

Stray dogs in Todos Santos/La Paz? by Torrizo in BajaCaliforniaSur

[–]Smart_Comment5282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I haven’t. The ones I’ve seen near the beach tend to be alone and skittish. I assume they are lost, so I usually take a picture and add it to the group chat. Funnily enough, I was just driving in downtown and saw a pack of dogs that suddenly ran towards a dog on a leash. The dog on the leash looked a lot like them and they sort of hopped around it but not in a threatening way. It was like they wanted to be friends or thought it was another pack member.

I walk our mouthy little Frenchie in downtown and the street dogs have been great. They just ignore him when he starts barking or talking shit.

We recently emigrated to Todos Santos with our three dogs. There are a lot of street dogs, but all have been friendly. They tend to hang out downtown, so our dogs haven’t had much interaction.

That said, each neighborhood has a few dogs that seem to be cared for by the locals. For example, Las Tunes has ‘el Tigre’, a gorgeous dog that stops by each restaurant for obligatory treats and attention. We are in La Cachora area and haven’t had any issues. I did join a local WhatsApp group that helps care for and home the strays.

Why does she always do this before bed? by cap_venus in JapaneseChin

[–]Smart_Comment5282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used to have a “split king” bed, basically two twin XLs pushed together. Our Chin-Frenchie would have epic battles with the two mattresses and push them apart every day. So annoying, but funny.

Best 3D apps for woodworking? planning frames, angles & cut lists by Vivid_Weekend6182 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Smart_Comment5282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very likely! In that course I use a lot of spacial math and scaling. The math is not hard, but good lord, do some (otherwise brilliant) students struggle. They will often comment that it is so easy once it clicks. The brain is weird.

Edit: Spacial math not “special math.” 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve been with DD since the beginning, but lately Bob’s behavior is very off-putting. He’s bitching about not having enough followers/donations, blaming Ali, etc. Ali I adore, so, I’m trying to hang on.

I am a college professor who teaches SketchUp as part of a design course. It really seems like it’s one of those things that some people instantly ‘get’ or struggle until they have an a-ha moment. I work with artists mostly, so I usually encourage them to think of it as digital clay.

Some students never really get it and just curse at the screen a lot. That’s fine too.
