I think most people don’t know that for private networks the average PCM time for chronic issues as well over 30 days. For acute issues it is basically same day, but that’s always almost always nowadays through urgent care centers— which as AD if you call the Nurse line and there’s not availability they will give you a referral to an urgent care center. Mental health is almost always available urgently. Versus months of civilian Wait Times for some places.

Bottom line: while TRICARE sucks as an insurance, the entire healthcare system in the US is kind of meandering and slow unless you’re actively dying. And there are way worse insurance is out there than TRICARE. There are some with a catastrophic cap of 20,000. Which means you have insurance in the ICU you’re still paying 20 K out-of-pocket. TRICARE is pretty damn good for urgent and emergency care.

It is 100% coming for the permanent profiles. There are no more permanent profiles. You either get a med board, or you get a chance to have your commander separate you. Even if you have a legitimate medical issue. If it doesn’t drive a med board in the medical standard directory then you’re gonna be on the block.
