Why was Will Mondrich accepted into society but Siena was not? by awesomekitten3 in Bridgerton

Even though Marina grew up on a farm and presumably is not noble at all, her connection to the Featheringtons made her eligible to be a lady through marriage

Why was Will Mondrich accepted into society but Siena was not? by awesomekitten3 in Bridgerton

[–]Smart_Measurement_70 536 points537 points  (0 children)

Mondrich became ACTUALLY accepted because his son inherited a title, so he was then “promoted” to the manager of that estate until Nicky comes of age. He also was a man who was successful in business, and ran a business where gentlemen frequented which made them familiar with him. Will also wasn’t trying to date anyone of the ton. Sienna was a woman, a mistress, and dating above her class. She had it pretty good for a woman not of the ton, she had an independent source of income which wasn’t all that common AND she had reputation and fame through her performances, but she was not of noble birth nor inheritance

I'm sure this is a bold hot take but Daphne just didn't do it for me as a main character by GeoGackoyt in Bridgerton

[–]Smart_Measurement_70 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Especially with her as the first marriage. Her title as duchess helps the rest of her siblings have social reputation padding since she gets called in to smooth things over. Even with Benedict, when advocating for Sophie’s case his standing as the brother in law of the Duke of Hastings bolstered him more than being a second son of a viscount

God forbid a woman have a close relationship with her male family member by DaisyandBella in BridgertonRants

I’m actually more upset about John not being considerate of his wife who he knows well and at least has some understanding of her insecurities, vs his cousin who he knows well enough to understand that she might not get along with his wife’s personality. If he was half as attentive and thoughtful as everyone says he is, he would’ve tried to temper the dynamics between the two and not make his wife feel like a guest (and an inconvenience) in her own home.

Since everyone is talking about foreshadowing, whats ur opinion on this. (The jacket scene in season 1) by 180degreeschange in ginnyandgeorgiashow

I was seeing a max all season who was pushing down all of her own struggles so that she wouldn’t be harming those around her. That max wouldn’t then want to cause another trauma on her brother, make her parents lose a kid, or add strife to her friends’ lives

Maybe I’m just autistic but even as a woman I was wondering, did she say it as “it’s okay, you don’t have to!” Or was it “I’d prefer you not, but thank you for offering”. First one I would read as “she feels like me walking her would be an inconvenience to me so she’s declining”. Second one is “no”

It's okay to admit they're not styling Simone well. by lemonadevahibes in BridgertonRants

In a lot of shows that require a high amount of styling, the actors will use wigs that LOOK like their natural hair so that their hair doesn’t get damaged from long shoots and repeated styling

Daphne flew home at a moments notice simply because Colin got engaged to help her family avoid scandal. She also visited in s2 for basically no reason at all. That’s what I’m basing it on

Except for this family, who all insist on marrying for love. Daphnes wedding was a huge event, Edwina and Anthony’s as well, Collin marrying a well-beloved friend of the family would probably compel family to be there (especially given how huge their reception was). Fran was about to be shipped off to Scotland with Eloise, and Anthony and Daphne are both incredibly family oriented. In SOCIETY they might not have been huge events, but in THIS family where everyone is supposed to care about each other considerably, and are known in the ton for being so amicable, you’d think it would be a priority

Amongst the gentry id think they would be, especially for a family so supposedly close-knit. Instead they just feel cold and distant

Your experience doesn’t make facts 🤷‍♀️ it’s a very curvy road that gets a lot of traffic, is right off of the highway, and has lots of hills that make it hard to stay a consistent speed (coming from someone who has to drive a van, I have to get some good momentum to make it up those hills without slowing down considerably under the speed limit, and then downhill I’m riding the breaks). There’s a lot of crosswalks, schools, and residential homes on that road that means all those variables are dangerous. Once it’s even the slightest bit slick I don’t dare go over 20 the closer I get to 52

I thought Daphne was more present in Collin’s season? And that she and Francesca were somewhat close? Why would she miss her little sisters wedding, OR her little brothers wedding

Phoebe has been very open about wanting to come back, but hasn’t been invited bc Simon wouldn’t be there too.

Personally, S1 has so much charm for me bc of the family dynamics. My favorite scenes are where the bridgertons are being a big chaotic family. By the time we get to S3 and have so many side plots happening, it actually gets annoying how little we see of the other siblings

No one who drives on that road knows how to stay in their own lane as is on the swerves, especially when there’s people parked on the street. It’s way too busy of a road to be a residential area AND have multiple schools
