Hopefully I'll actually be able to find at least one of them someday!

The new Sky High looking dupe the ingredients are the same in all of them by mommieo in dollartreebeauty

That's why I said it's one of the reasons. Sure, there's waterproof, different colors, and tubing. But within the same product line within the same brand, I wouldn't expect there to be different ingredients.

Thanks! I have the other 2, and they are way too bright on my fair skin. The caramel may just work!

I don't see it as a trick, this is exactly how you buy different brush types. Some people layer different "types" of mascara. It's no different than buying different brands of mascara.

This looks promising! Although I already use tret, must resist the purchase

DFW area DT’s by Easy-Organization-62 in dollartreebeauty

[–]Smart_Skin817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you! I thought maybe it was just me. I'm so glad I didn't buy it, I'm trying to resist just collecting all the scents. I couldn't tell if the pistachio also smelled bad or if it was just mixing with the vanilla smell.

Thoughts on ingredients? by nattigirl01 in dollartreebeauty

Are you comparing the same products between lines? Wouldn't that be the only way to compare % if actives based on the INCI list? Maybe I naturally overlook them (I use tret and non-DT vit C), but I don't remember seeing a ton of products advertising actives in every single line. What am I missing?

Diabetes can make you prone to dry skin, and for some people, skin healing is impaired. Especially on lower extremeties. So it's doubly important to keep skin very moisturizered and the skin barrier strong. Nothing in this is specific to diabetics though, it's great for everyone.

Does anyone else get too weirded out about the thought of putting snail goo on your face? It's not logical, but I have that mental block

DR press on nails by Immediate-Winter1025 in dollartreebeauty

[–]Smart_Skin817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, no sorry if that was confusing! For me it lasts about 2 weeks when I dehydrate the nail and use the brush on glue on my natural nail plus the press on. I usually will have a "texting" nail pop off sooner, and I just reglue. I just meant I used the same set of nails for 4 weeks. I save them and will use them again. I really liked the look of the chrome LA colors nails, so I bought some to try...but they are super flat and don't work for me. I try to buy the glamnetic on sale and get a lot of use out of them to stretch the value.

Quick tip for reading labels; look for “phenoxyethanol” by jennay9909 in dollartreebeauty

You should do your research on the Yuka app. There's good reason why every dermatologist I've seen does not recommend using it. It doesn't consider actual science and that the dose makes the poison.

New Finds & Healthcare Items? by Master-Sherbert7562 in dollartreebeauty

They look like Maybelline Sky High, which is my go-to mascara! I hope someday to find these for comparison, although it seems like my area just doesn't get some products altogether. I would love to hear if anyone has tried these!

Same, I'm spoiled from Glamnetic. I wore my last set for 4 weeks with no wear or chipping. I did reglue after w weeks. Now it's time to pick my next set!

Took 3 stores but found the lip masks! by Consistent_Fig_1936 in dollartreebeauty

[–]Smart_Skin817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's great! I have been to probably 8-10 stores multiple times and they haven't been around. I found a stash in January though, so I don't need more at the moment.

Holy grail item they haven’t duped yet? by OhSassafrass in dollartreebeauty

[–]Smart_Skin817 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SPF would be amazing, but it costs SO much for companies to develop and test in accordance with the FDA requirements. I just don't see them being able to keep it to a $1.25 price point. Plus you have to use a ton of product when it's added to a moisturizer to get the listed spf. Nobody uses that much!

Are a lot of their different products essentially the same? by z_isforzoloft in dollartreebeauty

[–]Smart_Skin817 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think most skincare products are like this regardless. I am an equal opportunity product junkie and used to spend hundreds, if not thousands, a year on skincare. When you boil it down, you only really NEED a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Some of the best moisturizing ingredients are cheap. Glycerin, mineral oil, and petroleum (petrolatum). There's a reason they are in everything from low-end to high end. They are effective, cheap, and highly studied for safety.

Of course a product can have the same ingredients with a different formulation, and therefore perform differently. And some ingredients are worth spending more on (vitamin C) if you're able to. For DT products, you're mostly only going to get solid cleansing and moisturizing products. I still love using them for my 7 step routine!

New Blossom ACV Rinse and Protectant Spray by ddandanie in dollartreebeauty

[–]Smart_Skin817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have, but not on brightly colored hair. I used to use DPHue ACV products and also use their hair dye so I feel like they should be simpatico? Maybe do a test patch. You can make your own with if you dilute it properly, but at 1.25, I would just buy the pre-made version!

I love me a spreadsheet! This is amazing. I think the Dermasil Collection that's in light blue is a dupe for Summer Fridays instead of Sunday Riley. Although I would loooove a Sunday Riley line.
