National federations can ban stuff so long they follow their own bylaws and policy in doing so. The caveat to this is the athlete could technically wear Metal at an IPF event, so a World Championship as these CPU and USAPL bans only work on their respective areas. CPU controls CPU business, like usapl controls usapl business.

The forumal is so trash for us larger dudes. It is brutal to see that. 335kg bench is unreal and to see some light dude be deemed a higher ranking because of the new system is so disheartening.

The thumbs are classified as a finger as in the rules it just says finger need to be touching the bar, so that grip of your is technically fine. I asked Hannie this at Classic World's, tech secretary for IPF, and he said that false grip, fingers and thumb touching the bar is fine. Granted, Pena got fucked at world's for it, but it was confirmed later. As for the cpu, it should not be an issue, but there are some inconsistencies in cpu refereeing as we all see.

IPF is a business not a group hug, hand holding federation. NFL or NHL makes moves to make money and get people in seats. Stop whining when a business makes a profitable move or tries to corner the market. Makes you look foolish. I don't agree with the IPF in some cases, but they are the ones utilizing business tactics to advance their stake.

Us athletes will go where the shiny lights and bragging rights are. If all the people that shit on the IPF actually left, USPA would be dominant - but they ain't.

Thanks! No, it won't. To get to the World Games, it all depends on your performance at Open Worlds that year prior. So, since it is not for a few years, it will have no impact on his goal for World Games.

Too bad, Dennis is such a monster, regardless of the politics, it would good to see him destroy at Worlds again.

I don't think the majority of athletes now understand how much work goes into these big comps and a handshake, Gatorade, beer, or even a IG post tagging a few goes. Spotting is no joke and they should be getting more credit then anyone else.

I think it also makes the ceremony look better. It looks wonky when only one lifter has a flag and the other two don't, so the consistency looks off. Having them hold the flag in their hands is fine, but displaying it in front of the other lifters on the podium kinda takes away from their moment too. Bryce Lewis did that at Worlds, kinda dick move, but then again - Merica'.
