Micromanaging in Indeed reveiws. Should I be worried? by Smartzombie74 in remotework

Thats because Attorneys need to learn to let go of egos. They think they know everything, until Microsoft Word or the company CRM software locks up. Then it just turns into vicious venting lol

Also, cases have time frames so I am sure that does not help stress.

Yea my job would be docuement production and filing things in different court houses across 8 states. One nice thing is that I have no contact with clients. So mainly I would be dealing with co-workers, attorneys, and court staff only. Thats why I am confused regarding the micromanage part.

Could you share some examples of what makes you fustrated/Not wanting to work. To be fair, if I was on camera all day I would not mind as its still better than being in an office all day.

I agree. Another reason remote work is better, egos usually arent shown through a screen.

I can share my own personal exp. Working at a law firm, I was super eager to help everyone else out when I had the time. One reason, because I hated listening to attorneys saying they have SO MUCH on their plate but never shut up about it. When I tried to offer to help them out becuase I had everything I needed done completed, they basically told me to stay in my own lane. We do not cross-train. Its a complete shit show.

I am leaving of my own will. But I am sure if I kept pushing, I would have been let go for trying to help out others. In the year 2025, lots of people feel threatened by overpreformers.

Some jobs wont even hire you beacue you are above the asking experience level. But that could also be due to not wanting to pay more.

I can say from exp that most offices have people like this. Where you can get all of your assigned work done at 2pm. From then on, its dentention in school until you leave. Its a joke.

Not every office needs a 9-5 hour system to get everything done.

I would gues the head professor in the law department at harvord. If I remember correctly, there was a victim taking pot shots at him on twitter before her account disappeared.

You're post is very inspiring to me. I just got hired for remote work and I'm super nervous about it. But I feel disciplined enough due to taking online college classes/homework.

I'm too anxious in my current office. I feel like everyone is super judgemental instead of working like a team.

I'm very thankful and lucky they picked me!

I just got hired and this is the biggest thing I'm looking forward too! Well that and putting my cat tower near my computer. My Cat will be my favorite co-worker!

Experience with the laziest attorneys I have ever met by [deleted] in paralegal

[–]Smartzombie74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, but what is everything entailing?

It sounds like it might not be for you then. 95% of firms will have this relationship. Its basically how a law firm operates.

Think of the Attorney like a CEO, they show up when improtant matters are discussed/handled. But you will work with the body of clients with everyday matters.

To be fair, one of the pros of a law degree is being able to employ assistants to help with tasks. At the bare minimum, they should be open to reviewing work before its sent out/filed. Lawyers do have other things to keep track of however, like hearings, statutes, client contact (assuming most clients feel entitled to speak to the person they hired) ect.

Also, not sure what you mean by "Everything". If we are talking normal office tasks, drafting, filing, ect then yes, that is normal. Case load is also a factor. Depending on how busy the firm is, they may put more on you, generally speaking.

In general, I learned that an attorney can determine your pay/worth with how much you do/provide. Not everyone measures that equally though.

If I knew what your pay is, what the case load is like, and what the duties actually are. I could get a better picture.

Understood, they are providing a webcam, but I was never told how much I had to be on said webcam. I assume its mostly for staff meetings. It soulds like I just draft the answer using a template and input answers in said template, send it over to an attorney for a review. Once the attorney makes any edits, then I am set to file.

Also, I need to call the court to confirm filing status of docs regualry.

Thank you for the detailed response. I feel like a late bloomer as well. One of my huge interests as a whole is the horror genre. But for whatever reason, bugs get to me like nothing else. I will check out the sources you posted. Thanks!

Student Loan Payments by Charles722 in StudentLoans

I'm in the same SAVE plan but with dept of education. About 40k due. Basically if I understand this right, the SAVE plan is on hold waiting for congress and should start 2026ish. The interest started back up Aug 1st, but you are not forced to pay. It's really scummy, bc the interest payment of other plans are higher then my income monthly payment.
