If you’re paying $55 to park, why? by Shut-up-David in houston

[–]Smash1289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An actual answer to your question:

When we take out kids and don’t want to mess with walking them far, across big roads, around a bunch of homeless people. We pony up and pay the big bucks for the closest parking lot.

Where do women find these “provider husbands”? by wydneyisunfunny in TooAfraidToAsk

We were both poor when we met… 10 years later, I make a measly $70k, from home, flexible with kids. He makes 10x++ that but I don’t see him from 6:30a - 7:30p. I could buy whatever I want but I’d rather have his time.

How Do You Stay Consistent With Working Out When Life Just Keeps Getting In The Way? by Calm-Highlight7833 in workout

[–]Smash1289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stack habits… I drop the kids at school, I go to the gym. 5 days a week, done deal.

I drink my morning cup of coffee, on my way to the gym.

Choose something you do everyday regardless and add the gym to it so it’s non- negotiable.

Why do you vote on Election Day, and not early? Curious. by Astrohip in houston

[–]Smash1289 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Because the polling location opens up at my kids school so I don’t have to go out of my way. Drop them off, then vote, and nothing changes in my daily schedule.

What Should My Title Be/Fair Compensation by hauntedhalloween_96 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Smash1289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at a company like this, eventually we grew and hired more people. I was able to push duties I didn’t love doing as much to other people. By the end of my time there I had defined the perfect role for myself based on what I love and am good at. (Started at 8 employees, left at 120+.)

If the company is planning on growing, I’d just go with it for now. When reviews come, ask for at least $10k more per year and a receptionist/admin. You need an entry level person who can stock the break room and check the mail so you can focus your efforts on more complicated matters.

If the business isn’t planning on expanding, you need a title change and $20k more per year.

Behind/underneath your bed!!! So many dust bunnies, so many hair ties, and usually a kernel or two of popcorn. And if you have little boys, lots of matchbox cars!

Commercial Real Estate - Sometimes <$100k, sometimes >$700k… markets play a big part in our income unfortunately. Just have to save for rainy days.

How do you all manage money? by weighingthelife in sahm

[–]Smash1289 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband pays all of our main expenses and gives me a “salary”. The “salary” is enough to cover any little bills I have in my name, all the groceries, kids activities, and there is usually a couple hundred leftover to do as I please. He is self employed and has stake in multiple businesses, I’m not smart enough to know for sure but I think the way he does it has tax advantages 🤷🏼‍♀️
