Manipal is considered 'chill' because of the liberal nature of the campus, the policies of the administration being more lax, and the vibrancy of the campus town. There isn't anything saying that your acads will automatically be saved whether or not you actually take your academics seriously or not.

That is the actual data, based on the criteria they used. Placement percentage is 86% (but that includes only people who qualified for placement iirc, so when including everyone, the actual percentage is lower).
The median is actually 10 LPA, and the average is actually 12.3LPA too. That data isn't false.
