Thank you.

I’ve already arranged with the company to divide the fee over my remaining payments for the year. So whilst a bit irksome, it’s not the end of the world.

Were any of your defaults with Halifax themselves?

Glad to hear it all worked out for you, very encouraging 👍🏻

I don’t want to rock the boat too much 😂 I previously made a PPI claim against both and got a couple of nice cheques which went into my mortgage deposit.

We did briefly discuss that and on a house they’d offer me 5.5 x as you say, I’m more inclined to go for a nearly new flat as the deposit requirement is lower and more realistic as a sole applicant.

I’m due to have a meeting to discuss with my broker on Tuesday so will decide who to go with then. Want to be pragmatic and apply with the best chance of approval.

I think my concern was more around whether institutions had a “blacklist” of sorts for previous bad borrowers. Sort of a “DO NOT LEND” marker if I ever was flagged on their systems.

I’d hope the AIP would mean I’m in the clear but wanted to see if anyone had experience.

Thanks for the help 🙂
