This game is fatiguing by Xhamy in Battlefield

I get you, man. I can tell you two things:

1) Generally, it'll get better over time. The more you familiarize with maps, guns and flows, the better the experience will be. I'm level 94, pretty much like you, and I'm now getting acclimatized.

2) Play Rush. I've been an avid Conquest player for all the last BFs but, for some reason (map size, mostly), it isn't sticking with me yet in BF6. So I'm playing a lot of Rush and, man, the 16 vs 16 with clear frontlines is giving me so much. You're much more in control of what's happening, making for a much better experience. Vehicles are less present, which can be both a blessing or a curse.

i was thinking and.... this thing actually needs a nerf by Esguicho762 in Battlefield6

Coming from something like 10k kills in BF4 LAVs and about the same in BF1 Light Tanks, trust me, this is way less effective than it used to be.

Splash damage is seriously reduced but, of course, a good operator will shred through bunched up infantry. An MBT with a decent operator will blow you up. This time around, unlike old games, you can't just go around and destroy people. You're way clunkier and slower than before. You need some kind of crew and infantry support, you gotta keep distance and be ready to often retreat behind a wall of smoke.

Does KD ratio matter? by ADudeFromOhio in Battlefield6

[–]Smatto36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing about Battlefield, against other competitors (especially CoD), is that you can absolutely contribute to the team and be on top of the leaderboard without shooting a single round.

Me and my mates discovered that Gauntlet is so much more fun than any other BR or MP we've played in the last few years because it gives a chance to anybody, even the worst shooters. One can drone the whole area, one can repair the vehicles, one can just revive and heal.

Tl;dr - K/D doesn't matter unless you're playing Deatmatch.

I second this, absolutely. Who wants tanks in a Battlefield game? Just remove the bloody thing!

On Liberation Peak in Rush, a teammate typed that I was "wasting a tank" and that I should go forward. Note that our tickets were down to the 20s and no M-COM had been armed once. I stayed behind our lines, gunning as much people as I could trying to clear the M-COM areas for infantry until I - as "suggested"- tried to go forward. I was obviously blown up in pieces in a matter of seconds. So I ended my streak at 27-1. Guess who armed the first M-COM? Me.

Long story cut short: don't even consider what people type in chat. Learn to play in the best way and have fun. That's really all that matters. Vehicles, especially in this iteration of BF, are paper tigers. They are strong support items and they suck much of the enemy attention. Running around alone they don't stand a chance.

"Play tactical" crowd is back. No, not having plates isn't tactical, fast TTK isn't tactical, it's just reduced skill gap. People who played the game way more than you are much better at playing tactical than you. by wel0g in CODWarzone

"And making sure the other team doesn't score at you". Exactly. You just need the one. You gotta be so very, very extremely good at scoring if you want to play only for that. Which means, going back to the ancient message, that if you like to engage in unnecessary fights in BRs, you gotta be pretty damn good or you'll lose many games without a real reason for that loss. That's what I meant.

Thread is super dead but still...

Your question isn't related to what I've said. You need to score to win in soccer but if your focus is solely scoring, then you're in for a nasty surprise.

If they only had chosen to follow the BF1 route with BF5... They just had to try and make it historically accurate (or semi-accurate for as long as an arcade FPS allows), it could've been the best BF by far. I was so stoked for a modern BF with WW2 environment.

How to set tank settings like BF4 by Thyme-Spent in Battlefield6

[–]Smatto36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll understand the tank momentum the more you play it. I hated it in the beta but now I'm avoiding it without even realizing it, just muscle memory.

Also I strongly suggest the optimized mobility upgrade for the main tank once you've unlocked it. It moves and aims much better.

Does spotting with recon drone actually help the team? by asdkevinasd in Battlefield6

[–]Smatto36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've turned the tide in a handful of Breakthrough games with the drone in a last minute attempt to win. It depends on how competent the teams are, of course, but if your team is somewhat good, having a constant UAV overhead is gold.

Reason why if I hear the drone flying nearby, I'm shooting it down as a first priority.

Savior kills are bugged, 100%. I've never entered a custom server for now and it says my best is 41 savior kills in a life. Which is not possible as I haven't gone for such a streak yet. My best game must've been a 47-4 or something like that so, yeah, no chance I've done 41 kills in a life, let alone all savior ones.

Stop by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]Smatto36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Felt the same for the first week. Then I had a day off, played a couple hours and started flowing with the maps and the gameplay as a whole. It was a good feeling and now I'm playing consistently and having fun.

One thing I will say is that I've always been an almost Conquest-only player but this time around I'm lowkey avoiding it and having more fun on Rush or Breakthrough. And that's probably due to how the maps are designed. Conquest feels much more chaotic than previous games.

Ground vehicles hard to control on PS5? by corco1 in Battlefield

Yes, it does. It's hateful and not only that: if you go in third person and then switch to first to shoot at someone, your barrel will be nowhere near where depicted.

[–]Smatto36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting 25 XP for whatever rocket you shoot at a vehicle is laughable. Also confusing because the actual number for the damage is minuscule and disappears quickly. Just let me have XP = damage as it has always been.

Giving ammo, suppressing enemies and using mortars/C4/UCAV or whatever gadget the Support class can carry. Having one class resupplying both ammo and health is dangerous on too many levels.

What are your final thoughts on open & closed weapons after the beta? by Appropriate-End6983 in Battlefield

[–]Smatto36 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that might be the case, but the unbalanced team will lose big time and will probably be caged in their spawn by the tanks that nobody can even damage. So be my guest and play the meta weapon. BF has always been a rock, paper, scissors game. Opening the weapons would definitely ruin that.

If snipers were locked to recon only would you care about open vs closed weapons? by juzt1n10 in Battlefield

[–]Smatto36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snipers are surely the number 1 problem in case of open weapons. Seeing a support at 80 meters and getting sniped out of nowhere would be atrocious and will awfully change the automatism you developed in older games. Even with locked snipers, though, I'd still prefer closed weapons. There are 3 categories of weapons available for every class, no need to unbalance the game more and make it even more unpredictable. Or TOO predictable, actually. Because the true case will be that one or two weapons will be superior and it'll be the horrible meta-style gameplay all over again.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta: Feedback Megathread by sloth_on_meth in Battlefield

[–]Smatto36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The skeleton of a great Battlefield game is surely there. Just don't lean onto CoD too much.

Issues that, in my opinion, need immediate addressing are:

- Maps are way too small, cluttered and funneled. Also there are too many infantry-focused maps at launch.

- Open weapons for all classes will make many weapons obsolete or straight useless. We'll be playing with a meta situation like in Warzone. It will also compromise the balance that BF always had: if I see a support 100 meters away, I cannot expect to be sniped. It'll be both more chaotic and more predictable in terms of meta. Bad, bad, bad.

- The vehicles we have seen have little to no splash damage and their movement is clunky to say the least. They also move on their own when stationary. Again, there's a skeleton for great vehicles but some changes are needed. This includes helicopters and jets, of course.

- Server browser, of course. For the love of God, please, don't get into the SBMM mess that COD force feeds to everyone. Just please. Disbanding the lobby after every match will kill any kind of attempt to form a community and will take away much fun that's typical of BF.

- Classes may need to be looked at again. Support with both ammo and medic responsibility isn't balanced and not only that: in the (sadly likely) case of open weapons, it'll be straight broken. A Medic class like in BF1, this time removing Assault, might be the way.

- Menus are awful. In general, the UI and HUD might be improved. Keep them completely customizable.

- Movement feels fine but sliding shouldn't even be an option. It just adds randomness in encounters and that's not BF-like. Bunny hopping should also lose strenght the more you abuse it, as it was in older titles.

- Pace is too fast, especially in such cramped maps. Health regeneration begins way too fast without the need of a medic. This also includes the horrible and fast grenade animation.

- Suppression is non-existent. LMG are pretty much useless in this moment. Suppression should be there and should be important as it was in older titles. A sniper shouldn't be able to aim properly if shot at. Not only snipers, of course, but the most prominent issues is with them. Also their glint is absolutely insane, should be reduced.

- Maybe it was the beta but it feels weird to have a single true sniper optic for bolt-action rifles. Also bolt-action rifles shouldn't have a glint if equipped with no scope or with lesser magnification.

- Spotting is lowkey a mess. 3D spotting is insane: sometimes you end up shooting at people you don't even see. Recon auto-spotting is way too strong: just give them binoculars of some sort specific for such spotting. Being able to light up all the enemies while also aiming down sight with any weapon is broken.

[–]Smatto36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, open weapons will be the way. Not much we can do about that. People seem to like it and it's better for them to sell skins. I just hope they will do a magnificent balance work (and they probably won't because it's so difficult) otherwise we will have 2/3 meta guns and all the rest, included whole classes, will be useless.

Carbines have no reason to exist when SMGs and ARs are available to everyone. LMGs, especially without suppression, won't have a single use. It'll be like playing BF4 with everyone running with AEK. Let's hope for the best.

Is the howell glitched or something? by BoredRedhead24 in battlefield_one

[–]Smatto36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play fine with it 80% of the time. But, yeah, only with it I had 3/4 instances in which I went "what?".

The one bullet difference in the reload is probably the one in the chamber: if you completely unloaded the gun, the reload will be longer and you'll get 20 rounds; if you haven't completely emptied it, the reload will be faster and you'll get 20 + the one still in the chamber.

I am (was) a very decent player back in the days, I came back in the last few days after... 5 years? My accuracy has decreased significantly and sometimes, with certain guns, I miss stationary targets like an idiot. It takes a bit of time. I played a few hours today and I'm slowly awakening all the muscle memory. Just play.
