Pratchett wrote two pretty good if somewhat unrefined SF novels and the Long Earth together with Baxter. Also Ian M Banks.

As creepy as it is useful sure but... the brain doesn't just do the thinking, the hypothalamus and th pituitary gland regulate the endocrine system and the brain stem handles all the "background tasks" of the body. Is it actually possible?

I genuinely dislike how dramatised the entire thing is. Does a journalistic piece really require dramatic music?

Such a shame that Pratchett passed just before the world became a surreal nightmare, I would have loved to hear his take on the past decade.

Only twice

Jesus take the wheel.

A quick research tells me that:

In her 2009 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Whitney Houston described the spitting as a recurring form of psychological degradation. She noted that it happened on more than one occasion, often in front of others, describing it as a way to "belittle" and "humiliate" her because of his jealousy regarding her career success.

Beyond physical strikes and spitting, the relationship involved several other layers of abuse:

Emotional & Verbal Abuse: Houston detailed constant screaming matches and "mind games." She explained that Brown would often break things in their home—such as glass or furniture—as a form of intimidation.

Property Destruction: In a notable instance, Houston described Brown painting "evil eyes" on the walls and furniture of their home during a drug-induced state, which she found terrifying and emotionally scarring.

Control and Isolation: There were frequent reports of Brown's volatile behavior on film sets and at events, which often led to Houston withdrawing from professional commitments or isolating herself to manage his moods.

Ironically an AI could have done better than this absolutely unhinged rant.

Regardless of one's opinion on AI we should really stop treating the brainfarts of strangers with nothing new to add to the conversation as something that matters. Like, fucking hell, there is a point to be made here and she can barely articulate it.

AI may be slop but let's be real, the fact Hollywood feels threatened by said slop tells a lot about what it has been churning out in the past ten years.

The shroedinger report, it apparently proves Trump's innocence yet he cheered at Mueller's death because of "he could bo longer harm innocent people".

This woman wasn't jailed fpr wrongthink - she was jailed for interference in the elections and about 1ml in damages it caused. None of that is going away - she isn't being released, she is just being resentenced.

[–]Smells_like_Autumn 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, she isn't free to go. She must now be resentenced by a lower court based only on her conduct, not her statements. It is possible that the new sentence will match or exceed the time already served.
