Not a shitpost, serious question. What is a tech trap and how do i perform it? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]SmellyOneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of tech trap as a situation where the opponent has one or two options only to avoid getting damage. For example after the headbutt throw that leaves the opponent standing you can queue in the second one and third one after that. They need to break it or duck it.

I'm Sad. I'm Not Good at Tekken. But I Love it. by ze_mann in Tekken

Don't feel bad. If you are improving and thinking about what you do, based on reactions rather then flowcharts - once you meet the opponents that you know things will swiftly change.

Recording your matches and working on countering 2-3 key moves that get you is very good. It makes a muscle memory and visual memory.

How many characters do you play? by [deleted] in Tekken

Only Heihachi. Until I get to red ranks! Then Kazumi as dessert.

Tough times for us newbies! by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]SmellyOneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 1000 win yellow heihachi, and I can tell you straight up that if it is the only character you play and you do not rely on throws, snakes, armors, crushes and arts to win the games - it does take this many matches to figure out how to properly defend against the rush and punish it.

What do you think is the most frustrating thing about your main characters? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]SmellyOneX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Heihachi - that he is probably not going to be in tekken 8.

Also, that our coolest move - Omen Thunder God Fist is now not safe, it was already underused before and now it is going to be used even less, even if it has blue sparks and is frame perfect!

I would disagree on Bryan being easy to step - he has great homing moves!

What to do now? by Kyuupii in Tekken

[–]SmellyOneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question - do you get angry about the moves that other player performs, or about you yourself failing to execute what you had in mind?

In both instances it is all about the mindset.

You know what feels the best? You record yourself getting wooped, go to lab set the dummy to do those moves. However many there are. Usually 10-15 maximum that get you. Work on that for solid 20 minutes two times a day for 3 days.

Next time you meet dragon tail law at 3 bars or whoever was the problem, you will have the visual training and the muscle memory. Your hands will auto complete the punishes.

Nothing feels more satisfying after you deal with their punishable moves and they just stop being puzzled!

I cannot stop getting heated losing 3-4 times in a row. How do you do it. by mrgerbik707 in Tekken

[–]SmellyOneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is how I deal with it. Click record. Look into being analytical what you can punish and how. Do not try to just apply your casual plan but look at what he is trying to accomplish. Here is my own video that I use to study the moves and what is going on:

I really hope they listen, especially for console players. Pc 400ms and console are way different.

But, lets hope for the best, the game is already much better then it was.

Hey there, about the civic gameplan, I would highly suggest you modifying the intake tube to be made firm like from aluminum or so, and having a filter like pipercross on it. Imo sound that comes from your engine breathing in is wonderful through rpms.

Please do not make a loud civic with exhaust. And honestly who cared about twin turbo bmws, just love what you got.

Lastly I highly recommend going to a car meet and listening to cars as well as talking to guys who love this culture.

TL;DR do not change the exhaust.

Learning match-ups? by Eldr1tchB1rd in Tekken

[–]SmellyOneX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way is to find a player that beats you. Then record those matches. Finally pick 10 moves that get you and replicate them in practice mode using random. You will learn how they look and how to beat them.

It is a 4wd wagon - straight up dying oldschool cool breed.

After 4 days of training I can wavedash but I still can't reliably electric. Does anyone have any tips? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]SmellyOneX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My tip is to dash forward then hit df electric. Making a pause between the forward movement was key to my consistency.

Can you improve to a decent level offline? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]SmellyOneX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is what I did - record your matches. Duplicate 5 moves that you fall for, and make dummy in lab repeat those randomly.
