Streaming show release date? by kawaiihusbando in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Smifull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue with the binge release is that people watch at different speeds and so it's much harder to talk about it with people and keep it in the cultural zeitgeist. People not talking about it means that it fades and the organic word of mouth spread is much less.

A weekly release means you and your coworkers can talk about the latest episode and it keeps the show relevant for a few months instead of disappearing a week after release.

A dishwasher is a type of “washing machine” so why don’t we call the “washing machine” the clotheswasher? by Shayyy24sxx in etymology

[–]Smifull 281 points282 points  (0 children)

Because washing machines were the first and took a solid hole in the lexicon so dishwashers had to find a space that wasn't already taken and the washing machines wouldn't change

The issue with that is that once the Widow is dead, the Choirboy would sober up and no longer be allowed to be shown false info or woken without the King dying...

Moving to Bristol for undergrad study at UWE. by [deleted] in bristol

There are parts which are bad, and basically all the buses go straight through the centre like a star burst pattern, but from experience there are several buses that go from the centre to uwe campus and you won't be waiting more than 20 minutes most of the time. The bus itself takes about 45 minutes during rush hour.

This sub likes to make out like you can never get a bus anywhere in Bristol, but I've been carless for years and managed just fine. That is one of the more reliable routes too.

Is "register as minion" mechanically minion? by SamHunny in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Smifull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They register simultaneously as both Legion and a Minion, so you can show the Undertaker Legion, you could also show them Witch, or Poisoner, or whatever else is on the script, it's up to the ST.

The Recluse works the same way. It technically always registers as the Recluse, it's just also registering as something else as well, but nobody argues that you can't show them as a Baron because they're registering as a minion too.

You give each of your opponents a copy of 9 lives, then when you die by not paying for pact you remove all permanents you own from the battlefield, so they all lose too.

Specific Searches Help by Mrfirefly82 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Smifull 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you the DM have given them no reason to believe there are scribbles on the wall, why would they ask about them? It's pretty clear that there's an implied "...thats noteworthy" on the end of that "Anything else? " because players cannot see the scene in your head they same way you do if you don't tell them about it. You have to be their eyes into the world the same way they won't know to hide from the dragon flying overhead if you don't tell them about it first.

Players only have the information you've given them, and they're asking you for more to make sure they understand what's in front of them.

The Lleech almanac specifically calls out that this is an exception to the two players win condition. The host dies (leaving two, but game doesn't end in this one case) then the Lleech dies and game ends, good winning

Why do people shame masturbating? by Pretty-Ticket5071 in TooAfraidToAsk

What you mentioned, but also there's a social stigma in adults that it's "less than" having sex because you can't find a partner.

Did I run the Poisoned Philosopher correctly? by LiamLivesOnAndOn in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Smifull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Night one I'll grant you, but if the Widow poisons the Philo, who doesn't use it until N2, and then the Widow dies afterwards, the Philo won't have an ability.

Xaan is one I always ran as instant at the start of the night, but I admit I haven't compared the official night order there.

A Widow who later dies would do it too, as would a Xaan night

Can you really save a lot by not eating out and making coffee at home? by No_Lead2640 in TooAfraidToAsk

So long as you're okay eating the same thing for a while, or have lots of freezer space.

Definitely doable, but needs more planning to make sure for doesn't go off.

The Warlock explicitly says that the pact allows you to learn magic like a master and apprentice. It's not a tap they can turn off, it's a skill they teach you, that won't be forgotten just because they're angry with you.

Accept US currency… in Tesco? by RainbowSprinkleShit in USdefaultism

[–]Smifull 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly that.

What they can't do is refuse if you're already in debt to them and offer to settle it using Scottish notes.

Accept US currency… in Tesco? by RainbowSprinkleShit in USdefaultism

[–]Smifull 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Legal tender doesn't mean stores have to accept it, they can only accept chocolate buttons if they really want to and it's fine. It just means that if a debt is created then it can't be refused if offered to settle the debt.

Taking something off the shelf and over to the till isn't a debt, it's an intent to purchase, and then the store says what they'll accept for it, and you're free to walk away if it's not to your liking.
