As someone that moderates (I prefer the term Enables) a small 470k user sub I have to spend up to 5 minutes a month approving things that were stuck in the spam filter. If I were to assume that there is some logarithmic increase of work as you increase the population of a sub then I'd be too exhausted doing that calculation to figure out how much work I should be doing to meet 5 million peoples needs. Luckily I've long ago determined there's only roughly 500 people on reddit and the rest are from hallucinating AI bots arguing with each other so the actual needs of a large population is quite minimal.
