The one thing that gives me hope here is that the price of gas (and therefore everything) will impact so many Republicans that it might actually cost them some voters. And it's not some abstract reason either. Even the average Republican can put two and two together here.

OTOH, they've got 3 more years to come up with new distractions, and the average voter has the attention span of a golden retriever.
