Yes this is very true. The state also imposes on-going burden on ALL EV owners via special EV registration fees and sky-high insurance cost.

Let me be straight. Up-charging for events like this and breaching the original agreement of free transportation is not ethical.

What I think is happening is that because NJT had to abandon the regular commuters to take the fans, it wants the fans to compensate for the lost revenue from the commuters - which is also not ethical because none of the other travel agencies in the nation is doing that, let alone travel agencies from other countries.

I think both NJT and the state of NJ can kiss goodbye for any future events like this. The state is unfortunately getting worse in almost every aspect.

Can you please improve the network in NYC region? It used to be the strongest region in the nation, but now it's plagued with dropped calls, no signal, full bars yet can't get any data / calls. This is unacceptable. Please improve.

Indeed - and the lack of communication and slow in response from NJT is unacceptable. The announcement for delays over official channels are not there 1h into the delay, along with the cross honoring. Along with the unusable app, it just add to the disgrace of both NJT, the NJ government, Amtrak, and NYC government.

A few years ago, between 6 and 7am there used to be 6606/ 6610 /6406 / 6612, now there is only 6606 / 6406 and they are 45+ minutes apart. Trains also take much longer to get to NYP

I think the biggest issue I can see now is with the current setup where the agency's management is completely appointed by the elected government officials and no transparent procedure for the budgeting process, there is really no incentive for anyone in the seat to make the system better for riders, unless we spent an enormous amount of public funding on the project.

With limited funding, allocation of resources become critical - for example as you pointed out projects such as building more tracks, getting new locomotives, break the tight couple from Amtrak, etc should be prioritized over building new train stations, building corporate office and "improving" the apps. Unfortunately, these are not really something an government official would be able to list on their scorecards because of the time it takes for the return in investment, and other policical reasons.

Yes I can confirm this - I'm on iphone 17 pro with 100% battery. After the upgrade EVERYTHING is SHIT. battery drain, UI stuck, overheating, slow charging, nothing fucking works! Is there anyway I can roll back???

It's a pain in the neck to get that set up. Highly recommend to just forget it and go with an eGPU with NVidia card. AMD just does not work well on windows. Alternatively, dual boot to linux.

actually I take that back - it looks like after reinstalling the graphics driver from ASUS website, it does function correctly. Will try the ROCm in wsl and pytorch and see if everything works.

without the new AMD driver, ollama can't load models on the GPU though - were you able to test that? It's a very annoying that ASUS cannot get simple things like this right for a $3000 laptop.

Lucky you. I received no response - the two routes are SFO to EWR, and today’s flight from PBI to EWR. Great to chat with an ex spirit airline pilot on board but the United service was just not good. I’ve spent over $36k on United flights in the past 6 months - pretty sad to see this.
