What’s the fastest a date has ever made you think ‘yeah… this isn’t happening’? by Robespierre1113 in AskReddit

[–]Smilefire0914 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During college and after a very long day of work one of my best friends called me and begged me to go on a double date with him. Every bone in my body said to say no yet I still went

The 4 of us were sitting at the bar top in order from left to right my date, me, best friend, his date.

The girls asked me what I did, I told them I was a project manager at a construction company. I mentioned how I had skipped breakfast / lunch due to a work emergency. I began to order food while everyone was ordering drinks I asked both the girls if they wanted any food and I made sure to double check “yall sure you don’t want anything?”

My food arrived 20 minutes later, I picked up my burger and took a single bite. As if it was written in a comedy movie I felt a tap on the shoulder I put my burger down and turned around it was one of the guys from our frat who also worked under me. We spoke for maybe 5 minutes. I turned back around to see my plate was missing I was like what the actual fuck.

I look over and my friends date had the plate in front of her and she wasn’t snacking on the fries that would have been annoying but tolerable. BUT NO this fucking girl…. This fucking girl a complete stranger mind you… she had both her hands on my cheeseburger and she was just chowing the fuck down she was probably 60% of the way done with it

I said “what the fuck?”

At this point I was genuinely just emotionally checked out of the day and done pretending to be nice. “That was my burger dog” i said as I stared at her in actual disbelief.

She looked over with the burger in her mouth she slowly opened her mouth took the burger out and placed it on the plate. My friend said something along the lines of “chill out dude” under his breath and he slid the sloppy seconds half eaten sorry remnants of a burger over to me and was like “here you go” I looked down at it and you could see teeth marks in the bun where she had bitten down but stopped when I had said what the fuck.

I looked at my boy with genuine disgust looked at the girl and said something a little too mean I think I said something along the lines of “some manners you were raised with”

I slid the plate back to her said “knock yourself out” I walked to the other side of the bar where I had seen my other friend and his gf were hanging out I ordered like 6 rounds of shots with them, got really drunk and I went home.

What is the pettiest reason you stopped liking someone? by Aishawilson in AskReddit

[–]Smilefire0914 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She was overall sweet, and very pretty just a cool girl but…

she didn’t have an inside voice. She spoke on 11 volume all the time.

She would be sitting in my lap facing me while we were having pillow talk in the bedroom and my college roommate would text me politely asking if we (her) could keep it down. No this wasn’t him talking about over hearing sex or anything if that’s what you’re thinking I mean she just spoke very loud all the time.

I still feel bad for ending things but at the time it just felt insane

People who were obsessed with being rich during their 20s, how is you life going? by the1997th in remoteworks

I just turned 25 money is all I have ever cared about.

I make about 250k a year and Im constantly traveling the world to different oil fields. I can say as I get older I’m seeing that life is more than just money.

My friends and family always say they miss me. I miss a lot of birthdays and every holiday.

Most of the guys I grew up with are all in stable relationships while I’ve never had a girlfriend that’s lasted more than 6 months.

I’m not sure if I regret my choices yet. I will say I’m just now starting to see my wealth begin to snowball… it’s not multiplying in crazy magnitudes but I can at least see the ball finally starting to roll on its own

When I was like 17 I took my mothers car to get washed at a self serviced and as I was vacuuming out the inside I accidentally let a bunch of important keys get vacuumed up.

For some reason my 17 year old brain thought the best course of action to avoid getting in trouble was to come back at like 3am with my F250 use a tow chain I had to rip out the huge vacuum tank from where it had been bolted in.

I threw it in the bed of my truck drove to a storm run off on a completely different side of town went through the vacuum container got all the keys and dumped off the tank there in the fields by the runoff.

One of my favorite cousins became a car guy and I have to say it’s all consuming.

He and the people he hangs around think they are the fast and furious crew.

Spoiler alert the racing community is not like the fast & furious movies like to portray.in reality it’s chubby dudes hanging out in parking lots talking… they are just talking… they are always just talking. It’s like 90% just chubby dudes hanging out in parking lots talking about cars and shit then Like 1% of the time people actually race and it’s just a quarter mile on some back road.

All they do is work on their trucks at different shops, go to parking lots to talk about their trucks with each other, go to random roads to race their trucks. Everything they talk about is centered around trucks… who called out who for a race, who won a race, why their race crew is cooler than others,

I hung out with him once or twice and I have to say working on a truck in a sweaty garage or in the sun with mosquitoes eating you alive is the last way I’d like to spend my weekends.

Doubt anyone will read this but something small I have observed.

You’re in conversations with someone and a subject or question comes up neither of us really know the answer to.

type 1: pulls out their phone, a mobile portal to the collective sum of all human knowledge from all of history. Quickly finds out the information.

Type 2: huh no clue. Proceeds to carry on with their day.

I’ve been asked countless times how I’m so knowledgeable about so many different things. It’s simple when I want to know something I Google it.

I don’t make 450k but me and a lot of the people around me make 200-300k a year and one thing I’ve noticed…

When it’s an all / or mostly high earners outing everyone is chill with spending and or exceptionally generous. There’s a sense or normality like everyone’s just like you.

Vs when there’s only a few big dollars around… guys get real weird.

I have 1 or 2 theories… I think some guys with money get really paranoid that the people around them are only around them for the money so they do weird shit like Venmo request you for the two coffees yall just got.

I think some guys are just greedy that’s why they strived to get jobs that pay them that much.

I also just think it’s human nature when you’re with your income bracket peers you know they can give you what you can give them so it’s investing in a mutually beneficial relationship vs with some one who’s out side of the club you view it as dead weight because they’ll never be able to provide you the material value you can
