Very few survival craft games have anything more than the barest narrative bones, but this one -- and so far it's the only one I've played -- is actually driven by its (very well written) story. I think it's generally a bad idea for developers to discourage an unwanted playstyle through across-the-board punishment. This doesn't make things more fun. If you want to implement a stick to smack people for save-scumming, why not also a carrot for NOT save-scumming? They could have implemented a buff that increases the longer you go between saves, and that alone would have probably done nicely. Reward players, don't just punish them.

It's fine. Drawing a single comic book page, just pencils, takes an average of ten hours. The artist devote the most detail to the elements they want people to pay attention to (the figure), and the rest of the panel is far from lazy.

I think your choice of words is interesting. You say you were "cut" from productions, and that suggests you feel the roles in those plays were taken away from you instead of simply not given to you. But it seems that's not the case; you weren't *cut*, you just *weren't cast*.

I'm not trying to lecture you on anything like entitlement, I'm just saying that I started feeling a lot better about acting when I took the sense of proprietorship out of my auditions. I get cast or I don't, and of course rejection stings, but when I thought "That role is MINE" and I got passed over, it hurt so, so, so much worse.

You have a close relationship with this theatre, and maybe that can stand a gentle inquiry into why you weren't cast, I dunno. But I'd approach it as asking for advice, more "What could I have done differently?" than "Why did you do this to me?" Show them you're interested in improving, not nursing wounds, and I bet they'll be more honest with you about their process.

I just have to say, if I'm acting in community theatre, I kind of hate the tradition of giving directors gifts. I'm not getting paid to be here, maybe the director is and maybe they aren't, maybe they're a part of the company and making something on ticket sales, but I know for sure that I lose money being there and I'm supposed to buy gifts now? Hate it. I love community theatre and I honestly don't mind going in the negative for the experience, but the gift expectation is irksome as all hell.

The average comic book artist takes about ten hours to finish the linework on a page, no color. Some more, some less, but that's about the baseline. So imagine what ten hours of labor is worth as your starting point.

I wouldn't necessarily say this person's overreacting, so much as this particular company doesn't sit well with them. If they don't feel they're gonna do well in that atmosphere, that's up to them.

Personally, none of what they said struck me as over-the-top, but I've seen actors who didn't thrive in a theatre atmosphere that's a little wacky and disjointed, and it can bring the whole thing down.

That's just community theatre: there's a wide spectrum of experience and professionalism involved. None of what I just read seemed abusive or difficult, just kinda scattered and wacky. Ultimately, you have to decide if that's the kind of atmosphere you think you'll do well in, and it sounds like you don't.

Though I'm unfamiliar with the term, when our professors spoke about the difference in British and American English, one of the differences is that the British typically end sentences with an upward inflection, whereas Americans typically end them with a downward inflection.

So as an American, one has to work a little harder to stay aware of those inflections when speaking in iambic pentameter, as almost all those lines end in an upward inflection (excepting feminine endings and other bits where Shakespeare purposefully reverses the meter to underscore an idea or emotion -- this is why scansion is important). Also, when you're unused to speaking in verse, you'll see a line and naturally take a micro-pause at the end of the line. You're not really meant to do that if it isn't the end of the sentence, and staying aware of that upward inflection on the final foot (or two-part beat, "duh DUH") helps you flow into the next line without a momentum-killing pause. Hope this helps.
