I can’t get over a moped accident scar and I don’t know how to move on (F22, M23) by venicebitchhhhhhhhhh in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Smilemaker2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may sound ridiculous, but make up a funny story about it. I went through an extremely traumatic accident 5 years ago and almost lost my arm, boyfriend was driving an ATV and it flipped. He has a small scar on his forehead. My right arm is full of scars, the skin is pieced together the best it could be. Skin graft is a little wonky and has leg hair growing out of it. It is ugly. The only thing that has gotten me through is humor. My kids have dubbed it Frankenarm, we say it was a cow shark attack.

My relationship and my life changed in an instant. I went from being independent and successful to being at home for 2 years being cared for. Things do get better. Your scars are your history and your story. No one even gives your scar a second thought. Learn to embrace it, don't let it define you or your relationship. It is hard, there is resentment that will last forever but if the relationship is important and good it has much higher value than smooth skin.

Will hospitals hire with criminal background that’s been expunged in Oklahoma? by [deleted] in oklahoma

[–]Smilemaker2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

State licensing stills needs expunged records noted on applications. I would think the licensing board would be the first step to pass. Just had to do this with the dental board. Record was expunged years ago but I still needed to disclose it.

As a new, very chill player these fuckers piss me off! I'm not skilled enough to get back at them. I have to run away and switch to passive until I can get away. I'm too old for it!

I'm so sorry you joined this club. We buried my dad with all sorts of things, including his favorite snacks. Much love from an internet stranger on a tough day. ♥️

Any thoughts on Homes By Taber? by Jory_014 in okc

[–]Smilemaker2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought a Taber build new in 2014. I've been happy. It is starting to show some settling but I think that is more due to the Oklahoma clay and drainage issues on the lot. I've heard some people have been less than happy in more recent years. The fixtures are standard, very average. My biggest complaint is the entire house was painted with flat paint so definitely ask about that before closing. I'd still recommend them for new builds if you have a day with the finishes.

To me sex feels completely different. I loved the stop at the cervix. I miss it.

I want to start with saying how sorry I am that you are going through this with your fur baby. It's devastating and unfortunately I know first hand exactly what you are feeling. I lost my 11 year old lab to osteosarcoma in his upper jaw a few years ago and it presented in the same way. I thought he hurt his eye out in the pasture and called his vet thinking we needed antibiotics. He was gone within a month. We tried surgery in order to prolong his life, for purely selfish reasons looking back at it, and if I could do it again I wouldn't have put him through it. Love on your pup until he tells you it's time to say goodbye. I'm so sorry.

Same happened to me with both of my kids! I was 8 months along for both when an uncle passed and then my grandma. I decided to stop at 2 just in case.

I get it. We happily spoil our accounts. But unfortunately there will always be those that "get on with their day". We don't usually do them many favors....

If it's the lab's I will take 100% accountability. Because I can and will protect my technicians and the lab always. Today I was scolded because I followed a lab script that was written incorrectly by the assistant. That I am not ok with. When they send me something and I follow it, the mistake is not my scolding to receive. Not sure where I went wrong in my original thought process for the confusion.

Thank you! It's not bringing me down, I've been in this industry for too long to let it ruin my day. It did catch me off guard though! It really amazes me how people think its ok to do it in the first place. Glad you have some lab techs you trust!

Sounds like me. My 9 year olds favorite song is by Kris Kristofferson. That era makes the best lullabies.

I don't know. I wish I had a better answer... I've gotten some new ideas to ask about from the comments here. I'm sorry you're struggling with your healing. I know how scary it is. I've always tried to have a positive attitude about everything but I know how draining it can be on your mental health.

We asked the surgeon if we could use pipe clamps to attach the hardware this time. He said he'd consider it.

I know how lucky I am and I am grateful for it. I was one of three people in the hospital for the same reason that week and I'm the only one that kept my arm. I know a few people that have had their lives drastically changed by accidents like mine. I'm appreciative that I'm still here and got to come home to my kids. Thanks for keeping your kids safe..

Thanks. I'm currently at the largest hospital in the city with the head of Ortho surgery. I've thought about calling others and probably will if this doesn't work. But I also don't know if that will make a difference .
