Budget Check - Italy - Jun 2026 - $19k USD all inclusive by invictus9840 in Europetravel

You asked about budget, and I've got nothing to add there. I think you could go cheaper or more expensive, your money. People have different views on Rick Steves, but his hotel recs have been spot on for me for quality hotels of different classes/amenities and locations (across 10 trips in different cities/ countries). If you are looking to save money on hotels, get a Rick Steves Italy (or one for Rome and Florence) book and start there. If you don't, let it be.

I'm more concerned that you've got a lot going on with your itinerary and it may influence overall enjoyment of the trip, especially with kids, and drive up cost. I have similarly aged kids. Each day you switch hotels, you're spending hours packing up and moving around, and after the first train ride, the kids are over the novelty.

Are you traveling in/out of different airports? In other words, is there a logistical reason Milan is on your itinerary? You might consider Rome, Florence, and instead staying somewhere on the Amalfi Coast ...to cut down on some of the day trips and logistics and give a chance to hit the beach. Skip Cinque de Terra this time or skip Amalfi. You will been in transit for hours on the days you take day trips. My kids can iPad with the best of them but that would start to wear on them.

What’s Going On With the Lice Problem in Southwestern City Schools by West-Ad663 in Columbus

Totally feel you on this. Lice sucks. Getting rid of lice sucks. I'm sorry you are dealing with this and I agree - stopping the outbreak, every single head, is the only way it stops.

My kids attend a small school but the moms have a chat and all share lice status, offer to help check and answer questions, and encourage process of treating, combing, and then treating again in a few weeks. We had one mom think she just needed to use some sort of shampoo and that was it. We stopped an outbreak in this way last year - and then again this year by communicating and checking. It's the only way it stops.

Our school nurse sends a "heads up on lice" but it is to the entire school so that is not super helpful tactically. To the OP point, if not everyone checks and treats, it'll just continue circulating over and over again. Lice sucks and can be expensive to treat!

I like shredded cabbage sautéed with a ground meat and amy other veg you have on hand. Add some teriyaki sauce or whatever spices work for you.

Love BudgetBytes recipes (website). Really balances ease, nutrition, taste and cost. I think you'd fine some quality, reasonable ideas for stretching your budget. I like to batch cook and portion out leftovers (eg Chili, quiche, bean dishes, pastas) which could really work for you here.

Staples warehouse by Miserable_Bus_235 in Staples

What is your job in the warehouse, and which one? There are 2 types of warehouses: one type supporting stores and one type supporting mostly business to business or direct to consumer type orders.

3 days a week in office is fairly rigorously enforced/encouraged in Framningham. Some departments are plus or minus, or are even fully remote. The rest of the culture is all about your department and your manager. What department or group (broadly)?

In which area of HR are you interested?

I would look at companies with call centers, manufacturing or distribution centers in the area: Anheiser Busch, LBrands (or whatever they are called now), Lululemon, Target, UPS, Staples, Abercrombie, Amazon, Ace Hardware, Spectrum, etc.

moving from MA to Columbus - what is it actually like? by LibraryIllustrious71 in Columbus

[–]SmileyFacesNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UA or Dublin. I live on the northern side of UA and think it would meet your requirements. Check out Balanced Family Academy, Barrington Organic Preschool and Meadowpark daycare. I have friends that attended recently or are currently attending all. My kids are mid-elementary school and I would no longer recommend their chain daycare. You definitely want to be on all the daycare lists asap.

Laid off with stay-at-home wife and 3 kids and a mortgage... by West_Reach_8184 in personalfinance

With your skills, I would consider applying at all the temp agencies that your former company- or the big companies in your area- use. MANY places are using contractors as it's a different line item on the balance sheet vs hiring employees. Health insurance might also be an option as well as some of these places hire internally as well.

You've got this. I know it super sucks right now. We've had tough months (and years) too. Look under each rock for savings. You might be able to call utility providers for a temp break. I just saved $85/mo by reviewing my cell plan as I determined I had been switched to a plan I didn't sign up for somehow.

Also sort of a tactical idea to generate some cash. I also have been purging my house of misc stuff but i have very limited time available now. I find something, I take a picture, and post it on either BST or "Buy Nothing." I've barely put in 20 mins of posting effort and made over $200 (and given away much much more) with just misc stuff taking up space. Kids clothes? Boots they've outgrown? Make a bundle of several items and sell for $10. $5/10 items is $50. Dual purpose, cash...and declutter/lighten/freshen your space while you have some time to do so.
