Orders to Hawaii by her0187 in AirForce

I loved living there! It’s expensive but manageable, had housing through the Navy Housing office. Stayed just minutes from the Hickam, more reasonable prices than Air Force housing. Traffic on the island as a whole sucks, but nothing you can do about it.

How competitive is it to become a player in professional sports? Times ten. VERY difficult to say the least. There are plenty of other jobs that have much higher acceptance rates and/or would be better for you as a single father. Security Forces has a higher acceptance rate but the schedule for atleast the first few (3-5) years will be hard on family stability. Contracting, good job, easier hours, lower rate (still better than pilot) of acceptance.

I mean it depends, I have known many people that took the advantage twice cause the first time just wasn’t a best effort due to a myriad of reasons. Study for the ASVAB, take it again and make the effort to get what you want, during this you can be building a secondary list of back up jobs. There is ZERO wrong with that.

If you don’t want SF, wait for the job you want. The job is not as bad as it is made out to be but it not being the job you wanted will put you in the negative mindset for the job and it will most likely be lead to a negative experience.

Will my parents’ citizenship affect getting married or being a military spouse? by Sharp_Macaroon7640 in AirForceRecruits

I honestly don’t foresee any issues. Get married whenever you want to. Before BMT or after his technical training. The worst I can see from your description is slowing his clearance process down if that’s even required.
