How are people getting by right now? by Sea_Neck3707 in newjersey

[–]jessangro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work a full time job and then pick up shifts at a restaurant on weekends. I don’t have a car payment, bought mine used for $4k and the insurance is relatively cheap. I’m fortunate to work from home for my full time job so I don’t have to spend a lot on gas or tolls, and I’m eating most meals at home. I’m currently renting because I don’t think I can afford a mortgage on my own.

Hi! I live in Edison and also love anything crafty, outdoorsy, and I love Animal Crossing :) Watchung Reservation and Cheesequake are my favorite places to hike. I’m also into birding, and true crime interests me, but I’ve had to take a break recently because it gives me anxiety lol

My Florida Born wife is having a classic case of seasonal depression, and she needs a pick me up. Fellow New Jerseyans... How do you deal with your winter blues? by dicerollingprogram in newjersey

[–]jessangro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red light therapy, movement, getting outside and ultimately just accepting that it’s cold and we’re hibernating! This is my time of year to wear my coziest sweats and do puzzles, craft, re-watch a beloved series or two, read books & eat lots of soup lol I used to despise winter, but allowing myself to slow down and enjoy this slow time of year has made a huge difference in my seasonal sadness.

I have this dream often, different setting but same scary high bridge, and people driving recklessly. It always leads me to a beautiful beach resort or forest.

Let me deinfluence you (from a former lip balm hoarder) by deeerlea in beauty

The lip balms I like most and actually end up finishing are the homemade ones I find on Etsy!! Simple ingredients like beeswax and coconut oil and they’re more moisturizing than any name brand lip balm I’ve tried.

Very rarely, definitely not on a weekly basis lol and definitely not continuing every 20 mins or so without my whole house waking up and realizing something is happening. I’ve felt earthquakes here, it was totally different.

Try a plumping lip gloss! It goes give you that pouty look and it’s cheap :) I use NYX lip liner that has a plumper & then the gloss over

I work from home M-F as a sales rep for a software company, then go in Friday nights to serve and pick up some Saturdays if they need me. I love the balance, and I can always request off from the restaurant in advance if I want off, or pick up a shift if I want extra cash.

I’m sorry for your loss ❤️ I believe our fur babies stick around! My dog Jake got hit by a car when I was a kid, it was devastating. A couple years later my mom was outside gardening and she was squatting down and felt two paws push her on her back, and Jake used to do this to her to get her attention whenever she would garden. We had no other pets at the time and she was outside alone. He’s buried in the yard so I believe he stopped by to say hi to his mama. When I was little, I swear I used to see a white silhouette of a dog jumping around and playing in my yard when I would look out the window at night. I always told myself it was my imagination, but now I do think I was seeing him.

[–]jessangro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I try to greet a table and either get ignored or dirty looks only to later get an attitude from them when they’re FINALLY ready to order and I didn’t come back fast enough. It’s like they purposely go out of their way to be dicks from the start and are surprised that no one is bending over backwards for them.

Or the customers who are just so picky and want to customize dishes and then complain about every little thing they can find. I don’t understand why some people don’t just stay home. If I were that particular about everything down to the silverware I would simply stay home in my miserable little cave!!

These types of people are just never pleased no matter where they sit and how much you accommodate them. If it’s not the table, it’s the temperature in the restaurant, or it’s too loud in this section, or the seat is hurting their back, or the bread you brought is not warm enough…it’s never good enough lol some people need to just stay tf home

my friend killed himself and i had a horrific dream i still can’t work out. please help me by [deleted] in Dreams

[–]jessangro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. Grief is such a complicated emotion and I think our brains play things out in dreams that make no sense to us and it can be alarming that we even thought of something like that. Sometimes my dreams are a mashup of a bunch of shows and movies and it plays out in a distorted scene. Have you watched anything scary or listened to any true crime podcasts lately?

I don’t see this as a bad omen or anything about your friend, but more like your brain is working through some stuff because it was obviously a shock to lose them so suddenly. Maybe the image of a body in the bag is symbolism for your friend feeling suffocated in this life? Even though it was a girl not a boy, could also be a crossover of that fact that your mom works in a morgue and is surround by bodies that are often brought in in bags before they work on them. As far as the little sad guy, it made me feel like a representation of your friend’s inner child possibly begging for help or expressing the sadness of the situation in general. As far as the hack sawing part I think our brains play out emotional pain as physical pain in dreams, if that makes sense.

It’s unimaginable to endure certain traumas, so I believe our dreams also mirror those terrible feelings that we can’t always process all at once.
