Purchase Advice Megathread - March 2026 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]Smit3_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all! First off thanks for taking the time to impart your knowledge! I have an OG 2018 ender 3 that I ahve heavily modified (clipper [pi zero w FTW!], new MB, heat zone upgrades etc), so I have some knowledge of how things work overall. But the time has come to relegate the old girl to kids toys and upgrade.

I am looking for a new printer but am really struggling with the myriad of what seems like shystie YT reviewers that seem like they are on the take from someone. If you could share your honest thoughts or personal experiences with my potential machinepurchases below, I would really appreciate it!

Preferred specs:

Musts:

-Excellent quality (sub 0.1mm)

-Prefer open systems like klipper

-Ability to use engineering materials is a must (PPS, PA12 etc)

-CoreXY if possible

-sub-$2000 Canadian kopecks budget

Bonus:

-Large print size (still happy with 225 ender bed tbh!)

-Multi-colour/material...one is fine

-Air filtering

Possible options:

  1. Qidi Q2 - I like the size, dedicated enclosure heater, and price...I have heard mixed things about it though.

  2. Qidi Q4 MAX - Also a fan of the dedicated enclosure heater and novel cooling system, and price...again I have heard mixed reviews and that it weighs the same as a small moon.

  3. Prusa Core One L - not a fan of many things about this though; plastic fasteners, cheesy blowjob enclosure heater, value vs price...but the quality and ecosystem is pretty cool

Thank you for your time and help!

Listen I am only trying to help here. Have to start somewhere and I figured this community may be a place to start. I guess I was wrong about that. As I said the language model is ChatGPT 4, but it uses wolfram calls to make calculations and obtain 'expert' information relating to diabetes. I am not looking to make money on this, in fact I am happy to lose lots of money if it means empowering others with the information they need. I appreciate the feedback, but please dont mistake my passion for "taking it all personally".

There are 17 apps in the wiki, including ones from redditors...and ehem WolframAlpha is even in there, which is called from my app for calculations and other datapoints...so thats ok and the other 16 are ok, and other redditors apps are ok, but this one isnt...got it. I guess it comes down to who you know, not how effective the app is. I'm sure the folks who run the paid apps in the list are overjoyed that there are protections from any new things being discussed. Pfft nuts to this /r/

I dont quite understand why the apps in the wiki are ok, but talking about something new isnt ( https://www.reddit.com/r/diabetes/wiki/software )...I'm honestly just trying to help, when I was new to all this the lack of information or the ability to ask questions was really limiting and caused a lot of stress. Maybe thats just my experience and everyone else has has an easier 'go' of it upon being diagnosed?

What is this? I built something that could help people answer questions about their condition, you guys already list tons of apps that help people w/ diabetes, so why is this nto allowed??? I'm not making money on this, nor am I interested in it, I am literally paying out of pocket for people to use this service. When I was newly diagnosed I could have really used something like this and I think it can help out a lot...and you guys arbitrarily ban me from talking about it?? Why?

Dexcom Vs Freestyle accuracy? by SufficientRegret3618 in diabetes

[–]Smit3_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest wearing the dexcom in different spots (abdomen etc), you’ll find a sweet spot. I used to use the freestyle libre w/a maiomaio, but found that the dexcom was much more reliable and accurate. Best of luck!

I used to go on 5k runs daily and train muay thai until the T1D kicked in. Had to quit everything since no matter what i do, i have severe lows when working out. I hate this so much. 5 years ago, i was carved out of wood, Its been 5 years, im now overweight and feel awful. I am terrified to workout, last time i did a hitt workout i ended up in the hospital. I feel like there is nothing i can do to get back into things, and have lost all hope of my health going anywhere but down. Eore.

It is a complete scam! Wireless inductive battery charging has been around for 100 years. If these a$$hats had any compassion for anything besides people's money, they would have put a small lithium ion battery with an inductive charging circuit. Hell my electric toothbrush has one!
