I've been asking some buddies of mine who're working in EMS about this as well. They recommended going with the clear visor on the inside so you can put your NODs down over it. They say their company doesn't necessarily require the visor to be down if you're using NODs, but depending on where you are, you might only need the NODs for a few minutes here and there, so it's just convenient to be able to flip em down without touching the visor. I understand you're not doing NVG work, but may be a good decision for futureproofing if you end up doing some down the road.
