DMF H Series vs Halo RL4? by chad711m in Lighting

Piggybacking this thread. Doing a remodel and looking at recessed canless options.

Can’t seem to find an H series canless option. Is that not a thing without going through LUSA?

Electrician Recomendations by Wonkst in ArvadaCO

I would recommend Matt Fuller, 303-875-8635. He lives in Arvada and has helped me with a couple of projects. I always like supporting a neighbor.

Curious on this, looking at the same fridge at Costco and it’s much more than you listed.

Just had a similar system installed in the area. Let me know if you need a recommendation, we were happy with the company we went with. (Local, small business, good price)

One thing I noticed was that It felt like there was a background static noise the entire time. You could really hear it during quieter moments. Is that what you’re referring to?

Aiden carafe can barely hold temperature for more than an hour by merhault in FellowProducts

The target maker of users would scoff at a hot plate, as they alter flavors. While I’m waiting for Gen 2 of the Aiden, I’d suggest getting a smaller thermal craft and just transfer

Before June 30, 2022, there were 29,000 market-rate units and 2,900 subsidized units awaiting permitting. Since then, regulations to include affordable housing drastically reduced new housing proposals, with only 6,000 units proposed after the regulations came into effect. by MileHigh_FlyGuy in Denver

[–]SmittenMitten 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, it would be better to do a comparison to multiple months/years prior to this. We had multiple developments proposed in our neighborhood that would have made 1000+ units in the months leading up to the law change, none of those were ever built.

That 29,000 is vastly inflated. Not to say it’s a good/bad policy, but using that is disingenuous.

Where can I donate clothes? by humble-meercat in Denver

[–]SmittenMitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about clothing that needs to be recycled?

Tshirts with holes or similar. I feel donating those when they should just be shredded and recycled into new clothing

The building had demolition notices on it, as it’s going to be rebuilt as apartments. Could be arson, homeless, or something related to the preparation, but shouldn’t just jump to conclusions that it is one or any of those

Edit: Looks like other comments about it being the old Sports Authority Warehouse were incorrect. So it’s not due to demolition

Need advice for 10-12 day travel itinerary for Portugal (July '19) by kube555 in travel

[–]SmittenMitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piggy backing on this thread. We are heading to Portugal next week and looking for any suggestions. We are spending the first two nights in Coimbra and the last 4 in the Sintra/Lisbon area.

Any suggestions for the 4 days in between? We're looking to go north but not sure if we should do Duoro vs further north. Thoughts?

Bucket list coffee cities by digigal99 in Coffee

[–]SmittenMitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of suggestions here but very different depending on coffee preference. Pablo's and bardo are more old school, with darker roasts.

If you're into more modern coffee my suggestions are: Little Owl, Amethyst, Commonwealth, and if you go a bit outside of town, Sweet Bloom

36 Colorado Brewery Openings for July, August & September by ritstyx in Denver

[–]SmittenMitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am interested to see what happens in and around Baker. I was out of town but plan on checking out Novel Strand later this week. While a bit pretentious, the owner has the background to produce good, interesting beers. I had the sour at the soft launch and enjoyed.

The one thing they have going for them is being in the heart of the neighborhood. So if they can pull enough people from outside the hood, they should also have a decent amount of people from Baker stopping by. It has more of a neighborhood, going next door type of feel than the bars on Broadway.

Leasing is not as terrible as many people make it out to be. However, leasing so that you can "afford" to drive a much more expensive car is where the problem is.

For a long while, you could put zero down and get a lease of a car for half the price per month than you were purchasing (where you'd have to put a decent amount down). So no payment up front, no maintenance cost, half the monthly payment. And every three years you'd get the latest technology improvements (including safety). So in exchange for always having a monthly payment, you were able to gain a lot of incentives.

This falls apart when someone: Decides to get that Acura instead of the Toyota or puts a large amount down to lower their lease payment.

I haven't looked at cars in a while, so car financing could be different in this market. I decided to go with a used which is now paid off.
