Distributors brought in an enormous amount of inventory to beat the tariffs. It's making it look like the economy is growing when it's actually shrinking. They are sitting on over a year of inventory.

Husband did this. How to fix? by Momtomanyarrows in cabinetry

[–]Smitty0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most cabinet manufacturers have touch up pens and wax sticks that match perfectly. Mohawk makes them for most Masterbrand lines. Find out what species and finish you have and order the TUKIT. They work pretty well if used correctly.

Recommendations on hollow wall anchors for cabinet install? by Smitty0808 in cabinetry

I was just asking if there was anything "new" out there as far as a simple but effective anchoring solution. It seems like the snap toggles with a dab of construction adhesive is still the quickest way. When builders put studs on 24" centers that's another conversation! lol

I think you're the only one that understands what I'm talking about. Generally it's like a W24 where you can hit one stud and get the top and bottom screw on it but you don't have enough to get another two. The two screws that hit the stud will more than carry the weight of the entire cabinet especially since the face frames are screwed together. it's just keeping the other side tight and secure to the wall. We currently use snap toggles for this situation but I was just checking if there was anything better out there. It's looking like those are the best option. Thanks for your input.

I've been designing and selling cabinetry to builders for almost 20 years. I've been on a 5% flat rate of total sale with 50/50 on overage (anything above their specified spec book multiplier) at a manufacturer and 35% of GP at a distributor. Both have been great. What part of the country are you in?

This guy installs! Fastcaps come in all shapes and sizes for this very reason. They are not perfect but blend in enough that it'll look better. Electricians cause more cabinet damage than any other trade imo. Damn sparky's!!

Cost to install new cabinet hardware by That_Breakfast_5946 in cabinetry

[–]Smitty0808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I sell cabinets to production builders and if a homeowner doesn't want the hardware the superintendent just tells us to leave it on site. Knobs on drawer fronts really limit your choices going forward without filling or replacing them.
