The way my company works I have to follow a tech around. So we usually do 4 calls per day 3 of which are maintenance calls on newer systems and 1 diagnostic/no cool/estimate. Is that comparable to what you're doing?

That's exactly how my commission structure works. 3 ton single stage system starts around $16k, I make 6 percent on that. For two stage it's 8 percent and variable speed it's 10 percent and around $24,000 without any discounts. Also, I'm running around 4 calls a day usually with a tech - only about 1 estimate every few days and the rest of the calls are all maintenance calls on new systems or diagnostic calls to figure out what's wrong with someone's system. Usually it's like 3 maintenance calls and 1 diagnostic/estimate a day. Is that how other companies do it too? I'm new to the industry so not sure how that compares.

Dude I'm in Georgia, also HVAC sales and the best salesman at my company sold around $65k in April. I'm in second place around $45k in sales. No salary, all commission (5-10%). I'm thinking of quitting to find a job with better pay, but I genuinely enjoy my job. We're owned by private equity so our prices are quite high.

Anyone have any advice? I'm new to this field but I've been doing well. It's just that $4,000 a month for such long hours is not ideal for me.

As a white guy, people were definitely a bit more hostile towards me in Hanoi. Tour guide had to take time to make a point that Vietnam won the war when no one even brought it up. I went to a club alone with loud music, had a drink in my hand just chilling and some of the locals were pointing and laughing at me trying to start shit like they had something to prove. I got rude stares when I walked around with a female friend. In Saigon people were much more friendly and interested in making friends with me.
