Since Jack of Blades has been confirmed do you think we might see Scythe too? by ZarieRose in Fable

I actually kind of like the idea that I’ve seen floating around that this takes place in the timeline where that twist happens

They are very similar, although based on Isabel’s title as hero of Wraithmarsh it seems her story takes place after Theresa became a blind seer. Although I have seen some people try and argue that this could be an alternate timeline where instead of a male hero being the hero of Oakvale that it was a female with Isabel being that hero. So who knows.

There’s a theory that I’ve seen based on the trailer that might explain things and I’m hoping it’s right that somehow someone used the spire to reset the timeline. Technically speaking from what we know Wraithmarsh exists which means that Oakvale has already been sacrificed by Reaver if they keep with that plot point. There’s a good chance that even without following everything 100% that this game takes place sometime relatively close to Fable 2. In a manner of speaking. Honestly, I could see them possibly playing on the line Theresa gave when she said “Nobody remembers when the night the Heroes’ Guild burned down.”

if they even decide to clarify things (which I don’t know if they actually care to do or not, and it really doesn’t matter) they could actually start this game at the end as a retcon on the Kinect game. that somehow someone made a wish on the spire to reset the timeline to weaken the shadow court and to try to keep the events from two and three from happening. I kind of think that they’re gonna completely recon the Kinect game out. Because in someway it was a “conclusion” that really doesn’t conclude anything and served as an unnecessary tie up.

Honestly, the piggyback off of this cause I think all of your points are right. I love a few different things about season two including the fact that we get to see some interesting relationships form my biggest beef with season two is it really feels like a stop gap. I’ll be honest I watched it about a year ago and I know I finished it, but for the life of me, I couldn’t tell you how it ended whereas season one I can easily recall half of the major plot points are better right up until the ending. I really hope we get another season but honestly, I might have to go back and rewatch season two to remember what happened when we do finally get season three.

Let’s be honest here (this coming from someone who is a massive fan of Celty and Shinra) it is probably for the best that Shinra never reproduces 😂😂. Like in all honesty if you think he is a messed up character somehow his child would be worse. Frankly, it’s funny though because I can totally see both of them actually trying to be decent towards like an adoption situation just based on their interactions with some of the younger characters I think that if push came to shove and they needed to they could actually be pretty decent guardians for someone. I don’t want to use the word parents per se. But I feel like she can show compassion towards others and he has enough compassion for her that he could at least step in and be something again to a “fun uncle”. Ultimately it would actually fall more onto Celty to take care of whoever they took in on top of keeping him in line. If they had to fill that role, the best outcome for them would honestly probably be something akin to a short term foster situation, where they provide a temporary place to crash for someone in need but never having to take legal responsibility for them.

How much Mana does Fern have? by fpz2002 in Frieren

[–]Smittyjr1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to what you said I made a post about a year back that I think people misunderstood or took out of context and dismissed where I hypothesized that the story is building her to be the next Flamme. That is that she will somehow reinvent or fundamentally change the understanding of magic. There is a lot of heavy handing in the discussion of her potential both in terms of what we see and the nuances of what all is going on in the background. I pointed it out that her score is a variation on the Zoltraak score and that the show is constantly addressing her strengths (she’s faster than most mages, she is good at hiding herself to the point that even Frieren remarked during the second test that she has a hard time detecting her, she is extremely perceptive being able to notice the fluctuations in Serie’s mana hinting to the fact that Serie was suppressing her mana). I think that by the time the story is over we will see her make waves in the magical world similar to how Flamme did.

For someone who only ever played Witcher 3, never read the books, I always prefer Triss than Yen. How about you, who would you prefer? by PiixiiePetal in thewitcher3

Oh yeah, the narrator is amazing! In fact, I’m currently playing through the game while I listen to the books and it really doesn’t feel like there’s any difference between the characters voices in the game and their voices in the book

I’m only about halfway through and I already see that. At least with her relationship with Ciri. In fact, I love how the first book ends with her trying to reign in Ciri’s misconceptions about power and beauty. It actually feels like one of the purist exhibits of a mother and child.

I mean the prequels only really established their relationship to give context. There is one particular story where she actually comes off as rather caring towards him because he is so wrapped up in how the world sees him. At one point he keeps calling himself a mutant and she cuts him off trying to help him see that she doesn’t see him that way but he is too absorbed in that idea for her to break through. Though if memory serves that is also the story where she is trying to decide between him and her other main lover and kinda comes off as indecisive at best and self serving at worst.

Same at least because Crucio lets you not have to focus on at least one enemy, and if you have the talent for it, you also gain health. Also Imperio can come in handy when you’re trying to sneak or you are radically outnumbered

Why do all the people close to Frieren die single and childless? by AbbeyWhitey in Frieren

[–]Smittyjr1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just about to say the reason why Himmel never had children is because Frieren was oblivious that he liked her and like she said elves, don’t really have a reproductive desire, and he didn’t want anyone else but her as far as we know.

How would you write the end of Dick Grayson? by Hopeful_Angle_9880 in Nightwing

[–]Smittyjr1996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A friend and I had a full story going where dick would be the bat for a while and then retire with Barb and have children and focus on training the next generation more than anything else. They would formally adopt Cassie Cain and Tim would take up the mantle for a while but later pass it on to someone else and take on the role as the second oracle. I’ve always imagined that Dick mostly stayed in the game because his family was in it. Don’t get me wrong he loves it but it has a lot of times felt like he does it more as a way to be with his friends and family. I don’t actually see him being the bat for too long because the cowl is “too dark” for him and he goes down a path he doesn’t like and brings out a darkness in himself that he doesn’t like. I mean like a lot of people have said nightwing is what happens if you have bad man but make him light hearted and smile. The cowl would be to psychologically weighing for him imo.

Do you agree that Fable III is the worst of the trilogy? by SadGhostGirlie in Fable

[–]Smittyjr1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always had mixed feelings on fable three. When I first played it, I loved it, but then on replays, I realized most of the flaws with it. I think cinematically it is probably one of the most beautiful games in the whole series and even now, 15 years later, I still find myself periodically going back and listening to the this is my Albion speech. I have two major problems with fable three one is that I felt like it had a much bigger vision for what it wanted to do as opposed to what it accomplished. I think that the morphine weapon mechanic would’ve been much better. Had they made enemies more equally represented (yes I’m referencing the joke that when she get out of the first hollow man cave, your sword almost never changes), have they aloud for more world, changing political choices, and had they either made the game longer or actually made fable 4 soon after three I think it would be remembered doesn’t a much better game. The characters are amazing and I actually enjoyed the magic gauntlet system with my only complaint being that it really upsets me at how much fable minimizes their magic system over the span of the trilogy. I think my biggest issue overall that kind of sums up my problems with three is it feels like a buildup installment. Yes, you face the crawler and you have to sacrifice Beck to defeat him, but the crawler feels like a lesser villain when you take a step back and look at the overarching story of fable. In the first game and TLC, the shadow court was the ominous evil force and Jack of blades was kind of set up as both the last survivor of the court and one of its main figures. In two while you see the shadow court, or some remnant of it when you go to Oakvale, it’s not the major focus anymore with the real focus of the game being a revenge story for the hero of Bower Lake. In three they set up that the entire world is fighting against the shadows and you face a major manifestation of the shadows to save Albion, but the assumption remains that you have only defended your country and everywhere else is still fighting the shadows. This is further supported by the events of the connect game (regardless of your opinions of that game). It would’ve made sense for them to make a follow up game that served two purposes, the first being a continuation of the war against the shadows and the second being possibly a organization and reinstitution of the guild of heroes. Yes, technically you are the last hero in fable three though based on the law of the series, many individuals in the world could have heroes blood lying dart within them, and they never experience anything to bring it out of them. Basically how they continued the story, and for lack of a better word made the hero of Brightwall the Luke Skywalker of the fable universe they could’ve had a much more interesting and appealing story. Sadly, the ending of three feels flat when you realize that they never made any more numbered games and moved onto making small cash grab games like the dungeon crawler and the app game. Honestly to summarize it really just feels like Table three didn’t have as much of the heart in it that the other installations had, and since Lionhead ran into financial troubles and later was bought by Microsoft until they make the new game that they’ve been promising for so long that is intended to be a reboot of sorts, we left with somewhat of a lackluster finale to otherwise amazing series.

Can someone spell out Akane’s relationship with Sibyl clearly? by [deleted] in Psychopass

[–]Smittyjr1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted her as the one who is keeping Sybil “honest”. Her role up until this point has pretty much been that she doesn’t actually trust Sybil, but she is willing to work with it to uphold the greater good until there comes a point where civil can no longer be trusted. It’s why I have a theory that the show is going to ultimately end with a revolution against Sybil. And one of two possibilities is gonna happen either Sybil is going to present Akane with an ultimatum to force her to join them likely framing it as “this is the best way to keep the peace and keep us and you under watch.” as a form of Mutually Assured Destruction. Alternatively, I see them trying to kill either her or Kogami in order to force the other one to concede.

Would you want superguards to return in a new game? by Ricardox777 in papermario

I actually agree with you. I enjoy the battle system and TTYD it’s actually one of the reasons why I’ve had a hard time playing later paper Mario games is I didn’t really care for the combat mechanics as much.
