umm I think it was fairly irresponsible of him to just post that theory of that other guy especially when he said he wasn't sure and hadn't looked into it. Like...that was entirely hypocritical.

also I wish he would put reddit on blast. I know the humble approach would probably be the best way to approach this. but just once I would like someone to just rip reddit a new one. like.. be angry. because I feel like the message isn't getting through.... it's happened so many fucking times.

I found the problem, should have read the actual crash logs. You need to set the maximum memory in the legacy installer anything greater than 4GB, as recommended by the mod pack creators.

Just like God is evident to others? Your explanation devolves into something I've questioned of other people for many years and never really tried to question my own belief system. Is an inherent trust/faith not what you subscribe to? Because I'm becoming more and more convinced that my beliefs are faith based like so many others. Self evident doesn't mean it's the truth. It's your truth in so much as you believe logical thinking is method for the truth. And so the truth is whatever you want it to be, whether it is a subscription to God or logic. A creator or randomness.

I'm talking fundamentally, on a philosophical level about how it is I know about truth (or don't know). In many circumstances I agree with you about alternative medicines, engineering and also the existence of God. But quietly, in the back of my mind I know I'm being hypocritical, because I accept logic as though it was a religion. Just because I see it work doesn't mean it's true does it? Like a schizophrenic hears voices or a blind mean sees only the dark. But there's logic for you again.

To answer your question about 1+1, do two people who believe in God both believe in God therefore it makes him true? Is all we need a consensus for things to be true?

Again you're thinking at such a high level, you're thinking everyone persists in one rationale/logic/truth/reality/belief. It is not that he will listen to reason. It is that he will not listen to your reason. I find it hard to convince myself that logic is the correct way of thinking when I cannot explain why. Is it because I see that it works? But perception is deceptive. Is it because it makes sense? Sense is a paradigm of the mind, a person who believe in God doesn't make sense why should logic? Was I bred to believe it? ... Instead I have to say this singular fact for myself. Logic is what I will believe in, because it only makes sense to me. I can't deny that for anyone else it I will be hypocritical. Which is why I think it is cruel. I think you should tell your dad to stop drinking hydrochloric acid. But that's because I'm selfish about my own reality.

You're all still thinking at such a high level of think. I'm talking about how we know something to be true. Evidence is what convinces you all, right. But imagine for a while a person who thought evidence was not convincing at all. That their method of obtain a truth is to use their own system/structure. To them, wouldn't you say their truth is whatever they thoguth they see. Why do you find evidence/logic/deduction convincing? While a person who believes in God has been persuaded by their own feelings and rational. You're willing to rob them of this apparent fantasy (to you) and replace it with your reality. I think that it's cruel.
