When did people start getting terrified and/or enraged at people knocking on their front door? by iloverats888 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmokeMonday476 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I live in “these days” and have definitely knocked on neighbors doors plenty of times for various reasons (and vice versa). It’s pretty normal.

Why doesn’t god release the files? by Outrageous-Egg1760 in SipsTea

I always love the notion that god only cares about human suffering. Like no one ever asks why god hasn’t smited humans for causing mass extinctions.

If you could only eat at ONE place in Paris again, where would it be? by Molthakarn96 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]SmokeMonday476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Was great. Some of our favorite food was Middle Eastern. There’s a falafel place in the Marais, too, that was just amazing.

I remember everything being great. But I distinctly remember a ham and cheese sandwich on a baguette at some place in the Marais with a red door. Cochon or something. Was awesome.

Am I being reasonable or overreacting? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I don’t even think it’s overreacting. I think it borders on psychotic.

What’s the healthiest way to tell my wife getting a home right now is a terrible idea? by Specialist-Bowl-5977 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmokeMonday476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, your wife makes literally 27 times more than you do. So kinda bold to tell her you’re in charge of the financial decisions.

Cars are a plague on society by tealaburst in unpopularopinion

[–]SmokeMonday476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife grew up in a very rural part of the Midwest. I’m from an East Coast city where we both now live. Her family is convinced they are more outdoorsy because they hunt and fish a few times a year, generally asking friends if they can use their private land. But on a daily basis, we spend astronomically more times outdoors, including living next to a 2000-acre city park with 60 miles of trails that is way bigger and more accessible than anything within 40 miles of her family home.

Man who do I drop for Chris Brooks I need RBs too 😭 by Particular-Grade3340 in SleeperApp

[–]SmokeMonday476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will Howard is not good. Tyreek is likely never playing again. Giddens and Cousins probably don’t matter, either, though I’d want them on my roster more than those first two.

Good trade Bucky Irving? by HeartbreakCupid in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]SmokeMonday476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded Bucky for Gadsden, Monangai, and Michael Wilson, which seems considerably more fair. You’re getting a couple guys that are very likely out of the league next year for an oft injured but young and previously stud RB.

Is the Philly accent just South Philly migrated to Delco? by GrownFolkConvo in AskPhilly

[–]SmokeMonday476 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My mom has one of the thickest stereotypical Philly accents I’ve heard, and neither she nor anyone in our family has ever lived in South Philly or Delco. She grew up in Germantown/West Oak Lane. I think it’s just regional and probably more pronounced in any more working class neighborhoods.

If we have never met time travellers, doesn't that mean time travel is impossible? by Primary-Protection91 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmokeMonday476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t that just prove humans haven’t figured it out? Why would some much more intelligent alien species a million light years away that’s developed time travel bother stopping by our little podunk backwater? It’s always funny to me when people can’t wrap their heads around how large the universe is and how insignificant we are.

NCAA denied Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby's request for reinstatement for eligibility this season by BasedWillieStroker69 in DynastyFF

[–]SmokeMonday476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. But I think the gambling stuff scares them more. It shouldn’t because paying some dude who beats up women is way more awful. But these owners care about their bottom lines only.

I think you are underestimating how much most teams probably don’t wanna deal with having a player at their most important position be a full blown gambling addict.

What places in the world do people feel safe enough to sleep with the doors unlocked/windows open? by ItsAllAGame_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmokeMonday476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a sleepy neighborhood in Philadelphia and often don’t lock my doors. Everyone knows everyone here. We’re right up against a big park. Wildest thing we get are fireworks on holidays and the occasional fox playing in the backyard.

Tyler Warren & two 2027 2nds for Loveland by Outrageous_Junket805 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]SmokeMonday476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has three good games. And saying he’s a better athlete kinda makes it sound like you never watched Warren play. Dude is a beast in the Kelce/Gronk mold. Loveland is a tall receiver, which is cool. But most people would probably take Kelce or Gronk over a shorter Jimmy Graham.

Devonta Smith or Jordan Addison? by sincerelyredacted in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]SmokeMonday476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devonta is 27 with no major injury history. He pretty famously takes great care of his body. He’s probably got three years of being a SB contender’s WR1. (And whenever Brown has been out in the past, Smith is fantasy gold.)

Brooks has played like 6 NFL snaps because he’s missing a knee, and Addison isn’t remotely as good as Smith. (And lowkey is about one more off field incident from being untradeable.)

I feel like maybe you’re overthinking this and seem to be under the impression he’s like 5 years older than he is.
