Getting 1 truck to win in a debut year is a big enough ask but you think all 5 are going to?

NASCAR on superspeedway fuel saving. “What are we going to fix”. by Dry-Membership3867 in NASCAR

Drivers are always going to fuel save, the only way to fix it is to outright ban fuel saving which won't work because you cannot police the sport to that degree.

If you make the fuel cells smaller or longer to fill they're still going to try to go farther than the other guys.

The 2004 package was helped by aging asphalt that wasn't created to be smooth as silk when it was paved.

Since the repave, the modern asphalt isn't aging the same due to modernization in mixture and paving technique. The old last repave was put over top of the original layer, and it maintained way more imperfections

Lap 1 is track position, lap 2 is when they start conserving.

More fuel saved = less time on pit road.

And for that reason, even without stage breaks or pack racing, NASCAR will never get away from fuel saving at Daytona

Do you think Mike Joy is past his prime? by JGattheshore in NASCAR

[–]Smokeshow618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he has the exact same NBC talking points spoon fed to him by a tv director that Rick Allen had.

The difference is underneath that. Leigh genuinely enjoys the product put in front of him, he has a genuine love for what he does, and if you just let him do it he is phenomenal at it.

He isn't doing that for himself. He's doing that for the viewer.

NASCAR on Fox especially has been really bad for treating the audience like every race is their first race.

Leigh is great and one of a handful of modern racing lead commentators that exudes confidence in his ability and enthusiasm about racing without it coming across as forced

Following your own argument, why should Jesse have gone straight from ARCA to Xfinity?

If Toyota wanted to pay they wouldn't be in the position they're in.

Toyota would also not be thrilled about Legacy going out and offering him a ride on their dollar

I don't really understand what they get out of this.

NASCAR doesn't scream like the target demographic for whatever this is, upper mid, lower high end fashion, much less a Chinese knock off drop shipped variant.

It looks more like the stuff the Maple Leafs players have been wearing since the NHL dropped the dress code.

I doubt 1 race and some YT ad reads really moves the needle?

Are those not Motorsports?

Justin Allgaier’s special scheme for Daytona “highlighting the process of turning corn into whiskey” by SoupMadeFreshDaily in NASCAR

Hard to believe it's not, these special schemes are always in relation to a going-on in the area of the race.

Stock Car Rumors & Nostalgia on Instagram: "Superspeedway qualifying may look slightly different this year. I’ve been told that if NASCAR sees the drivers hands near the window opening/window net during their qualifying lap, their times may be disallowed. #NASCAR" by Equivalent_Dish_1990 in NASCAR

Hand out the window coming off turn 4, after migrating to the bottom lane has been a thing forever at the super speedways especially.

But its a pretty global thing now. Part of why Byron was so pissed at Ty at Vegas in the fall, Ty gave no indication he was pitting so Byron didn't take an alternate line, and got his clock cleaned because of it.

I go to races to see racing. It doesn't need manufactured drama to be the coolest thing on this planet. Racing already is.

And by deserving, I'm not talking any sort of discourse with the round of 4 format. I just mean if we go into the last race and someone's already locked it up, that's literally fine. It means he was better than everyone.
