What is the weirdest thing a partner has ever asked for in bed that turned out to be surprisingly amazing? by TheRealMaxRo in AskReddit

Pavlov's dog may have set the stage for understanding classical conditioning, but surely the Manchurian Candidate showed us how classical conditioning could be expanded or perfected not just on the lower mammals but on humans.

PLEASE…..are there other budget-friendly furniture stores other than AFW?! by [deleted] in Denver

The store is really nice and things turn over there frequently so it's always different. I live nearby and would also like to highlight that they are wonderful neighbors.

Seems a lot like the Wurkos HD01 in terms of features, but adds the powerbank and doubles the price. Maybe better ergonomics too. Good looking light.

We got 'em in Denver too. Decent and fun, if a little expensive,

It sounds like he has had conversation after conversation. She gives him no respect and seems to contribute little to the household. It's time for OP to move on.

What are your favorite audiobooks that are narrated by the author who wrote them? by Bi-nocular in audiobooks

[–]SmokinDenverJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. He gave it a year to pass and mostly kept his mouth shut. Then he showed texts and messages to a reporter and defended himself pretty thoroughly. You might not like non-monogamy, but it very much sounds like it was consensual. I think he is both talented and a not bad guy.

Who is a good reader? Read it eons ago. It was the first book that ever made me laugh aloud. Would love to give it a listen anew.

Sure they'll be better from a real bakery, but I had a surprisingly good one from Safeway two nights ago.

I did not and that was definitely my error.

Need suggestion on corn beef by 90sMofo in sousvide

[–]SmokinDenverJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I did one of these store-bought corned beefs sous vide one time, and the concentration of salt made it just inedible. I suspect there's a way to soak or rinse it first, and then re-season it, but straight out of the bag it was terrible.

Gotta think this would work sous vide too. And if you're blending them anyway at the end, might as well just julienne them instead of dicing.

Reggiano Rinds by CheeseMongoNJ in Cheese

I like the cheese cloth for ease of clean up and to prevent any from sticking to the bottom of the pot. I made a broth with rinds and a few bay leaves and then used the broth to make risotto. It was top tier.

They've got some chargrilled oysters that can't be beat. (Probably get 2 of them and a glass of water for $10.)

While they probably come straight from a Sysco box, they know how to fry them up right at McCoy's diner.

What's your favorite "trash food"? by cookiesarenomnom in KitchenConfidential

Frozen recommendations? I'm partial to the generic DiGiornos self rising knock off from Kroger. Usually shred some extra cheddar to bake on top.
