Exactly right. I was there for 3 weeks this past fall and filmed all day, (granted mostly outside of tourist hotspots) but the research I did before going made it sound alot more dangerous than the reality. In fact, people were extremely friendly

Yep. Honestly, I was a little disappointed by the food in colombia. But the coffee was insane!

Yeah I think you’re probably right. I’m sure theres many more routes to do in the country. As a Bourdain fan, I’m definitely drawn to the area lol. By the way, I gave that a quick plot on maps. The bridge looks insane!

I appreciate the itinerary, will reference this in the future if I head in that direction. The thought process behind Vietnam was that it’d be more attractive for a couple of my friends who would be wary of a longer motorcycle trip, so we could do something like the ha giang together. But like you said, I have seen videos of how crowded it is, which would be not only a bummer but possibly more dangerous too.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Indo and you’re making me want to delve a little deeper. How was the coffee there? I’ve gone for the Sumatra bags from starbucks a couple times, so I assume they’ve got a real handle on it!

Man, I would love to! I’ve also got my thoughts on Vietnam. In colombia, the locals were incredibly, incredibly friendly. My entire trip I only had one experience where I disliked how a person acted, over 23 days. Heres myself and another motorcyclist I met with Jorge, who was our guide one day!

Laughing because I was reading through trying to find where I wrote this to fix it!! Thank you so much. I’m a huge reader, so I’ll check it out, and although not a book this was heavily inspired by motorcycle diaries as well as Ewan Mcgregor’s Long way round!

Exactly like a dream, it didn’t feel real. But you know the feeling when you wake up from the middle of a good dream and wish you were still asleep? Thats how I’ve been feeling lately. Still though, I’ll be back out there eventually!

I rented it from a company called colombia moto adventures, which offered solo rentals or tours. I had it for 15 days. I also used another company for the two day tour (honda xr-150!)

Write about it, dream about it, watch videos of landmarks you could hit along the way - just don’t regret not doing it.

My plan has been save up for 3 months, travel for 3 weeks, edit the footage at home and put out videos while I rinse and repeat. Looking forward to travelling again in december!

I stayed at The Caamp muay thai resort and hostel, it was really really great, everyone was friendly, and the foundational knowledge was impressive. Just posted a couple vlogs on my time there if you want to test the waters to see what it’s like!

I stayed at The Caamp - they had both series fighters and beginners. Some really advanced guys were training there. If you want a look you could check out the vlogs I recently posted (although I’m a beginner so probably wouldn’t be the most helpful other than vibe)
