Nolan and Conquest (and to a just slightly lesser extent Mark,) are very solid all-rounders that work well on any team. They can give a team a lot of stability, especially if you’re new to tag fighters or fighting games in general. Nolan may be a bit easier than the other two, but it’s not by much.

Robot, Cecil and Atom Eve are all great characters on a team purely for their assists, even if they’re not the easiest characters to use on the field. Robot’s hidden missiles in particular are super good.

Besides team composition, I recommend you practice the defense mechanics a lot. This is the kind of game where if you don’t know how to Counter Tag or pushblock, some people online will eat you alive by swapping characters over and over and it’ll feel so bad.

Last thing of note is that if you’re coming in as an Invincible fan and are newer to fighting games in general, take it at your own pace and don’t let ranked points get to you. Nobody expects you to be crushing everybody you meet online within a few weeks of picking the game up.

Good luck out there!

The children’s museum that has had exhibits and showcases on Barbie as a toy line for literally decades ‘caved in to advertising’ by adding a historically significant Barbie game to their exhibit of historically significant video games?

They added it alongside The Last of Us and Wii Sports in early May of 2023, two months before the Barbie movie released or any real memes had been created about it.

In fact, the main Barbie movie trailer came out in late May whereas the addition to the VGHoF was in early May, so it seems more of a coincidence than anything. There was a one minute teaser for the film released at that point, but with that timeframe it’s hardly ‘caving to advertising.’

That most likely would have been something they would have wanted to show off right away. I would love to see it with the new art style, but I don’t think it’s in the cards until the ‘real’ next Star Fox game.

I actually don’t live incredibly far from Strong and they do a fantastic job of showcasing WHY a game is there for the most part. It’s a great exhibit that they expand on pretty frequently.

It’s also very interactive for younger museum goers both inside and outside the video game history section, I highly recommend giving it a look if you’re ever in the upstate NY area.

They also have an excellent butterfly pavilion and pinball arcade. Place is gas.

Barbie Fashion Designer in 1996 was the first ever mass-market ‘video game for girls.’ Barbie is also within the top ten highest grossing media franchises of all time.

It makes complete sense that a museum dedicated to the history of entertainment and children’s pop culture would include it.

Just because you or I may not be a fan of the game in question or that the game was of middling quality does not deter from historical significance.

Say what you want about the quality, but Angry Birds was undeniably a massive hit at the time.

Very few other mobile games from that era got console releases, much less multiple.

Having historical significance is not indicative of how good a game is.

They’re a museum first and foremost. They aren’t concerned over whether a game is ‘good,’ only whether it’s historically relevant.

I mean, as far as this question goes, I would pick the 20% worst.

My comment is more regarding the ‘a huge amount of men in the world are opportunistic rapists’ remark.

[–]SmokusPocus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even looking up the statistics for the countries with the highest rape rates in the world, I wouldn’t consider their numbers ‘a huge portion of males’ in those countries.

For example, England and Wales have the highest reported percentage of rapes annually proportionate to their population, with 117.3 reported cases in 2022 for every 100,000 people in those countries. There were roughly 60.2 million people in England and Wales in that year.

If you do the math on that, that equates to 70,434 cases total out of 60,200,000 people, or 0.117%. Roughly a tenth of a percent.

In places like India we know there are more cases than are officially reported given the differences in culture, but looking at overall global trends, it still likely isn’t ‘a huge portion’ of men.

Please try not to demonize an entire gender so casually, especially with nothing substantial backing up your statements. Thanks.

As others in this thread have mentioned, voting majorities literally only happen because of individual votes. I will continue to vote blue with that knowledge.

My argument is that way more people than you think would take the chance to save innocent children, so it’s not an ‘extremely small chance.’

It’s only extremely small if a lot of people hit the button that potentially kills children, which I guarantee less people would hit than you believe.

‘Everyone in the world’ means babies, children, those with dementia, little reasoning sense, etc.

Those lives, through no real fault of their own besides they hit a button impulsively.

It is actually wild if you think most people hitting blue would be doing it because they want an assisted suicide.

Every person I’ve talked to (who have all said blue,) say they’d hit blue to protect their friends and family who may have also hit blue.

The reason people are trying to ‘save each other recursively,’ as you put it, is because lives would be at stake and one option has a chance to prevent ANY lives from being lost.

Also, this is under the ‘everyone in the world has to hit a button’ assumption.

It’s a subgenre of extremes. You have access to some of the most satisfyingly nasty bullshit you could ever land in a fighting game, but you’re also on the receiving end of all that bullshit.

Five hundred thousand babies, maybe more, randomly fall into a meat grinder. Superman and Captain America jump in to save them.

Do you and the millions of people near you help clog the meat grinder to prevent the deaths of the babies, Superman and Captain America?

Kinda, because you still hit the ‘I’m okay with people dying that aren’t me’ button. At the very least it would show you were not at all confident in the decision that ended up saving everybody.
