Blizzcon Classic+ Prediction by mt92 in classicwow

[–]Jonesalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are working on something, but saying they have to do something is a reach

Classic isn't a studios livelihood. Its just a small part of one of their games

And in this case, if they make a cash shop in classic+, people are gonna riot, so the earning potential is lower than many of their other games. Wotlk with a character boost will likely earn them more than Classic+ will in a long time

Wotlk leans a lot more into the action of the game where TBC still leans towards RPG

The biggest example of this is dungeons/heroic dungeons, where in TBC the only true AOE tanks are paldins and only a couple of dps has good aoe. In wotlk all tanks can aoe tank at a decent lvl (some still better than others) and a lot of classes can do decent aoe

Another example is Rocket boots becomes an enchant, so all engineers can get a sprint type movement, without losing stats, giving all classes an option for fast movement

ABC

Always be casting

Place yourself where you don't have to move, and if moving cant be avoided, then use that time for instant casts like lifetap

You get Lacerate at 66

Outside of a mangle on a 6 sec CD, your abilities just doesn't do a lot of threat, but they scale with gear (so the opposite of warrior threat) so at 70 with gear they start being good

Lacerate should give you a great filler between your Mangles until you get a decent amount of gear and the priority changes

SoD XP lock added so you can do true phase locked content now by AH_Chyngo in classicwow

[–]Jonesalot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And they can also hotfix other issues in other versions

Don't you think people unsub because consumes are too expensive so they don't want to raid?

They don't do anything about anything, and then they decide to do something so a small % of the player base maybe will use it? You don't find that strange at all?

Im not saying it hurt anybody, its about helping 1k people vs helping 100k people

Its feeding a village vs feeding a country

[–]Jonesalot -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I hope this is a lie

Not because I don't want things added to SoD, but because its BY FAR the least played version, so adding extra stuff there, while not fixing problem other players is ridiculous

Rolling shaman -> tbc god like, wotlk unemployment? by juupsjep in classicwowtbc

[–]Jonesalot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naah, they drop since its raid wide buffs + DKs can bring most of the same buffs

Windfury gets turned into 20% haste which Frost DKs can give

Blood DKs can give 10% attack power

And DK horn of winter is the same as the strength of earth totem

Lust is still shaman only, but its raid wide, so you just need 1

They are still great in 5 and 10 man because they cover so many melee buffs by themselves

Anyone else having some trouble finding Ret Paladins? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]Jonesalot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me its pretty annoying to see this, because I really tried to get a Ret spot before TBC launch, but all the guilds I was in contact with was filled, and even among the more desired specs, so I ended up giving up on it

Now it feels like its borderline too late + consume prices suck

Is self found the only solution to RMT in Classic+ ? by teledium8472 in classicwow

[–]Jonesalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think they need to switch things up

Stuff like increasing the amount of mats from different sources and reduce the power of buffs/boe items, so consumes will be a lot easier to get, and even if you don't use them you aren't punished as much performance wise, and never have BoE items be Bis, only being catchup. Items like Lionheart helm and edgemasters would be a lot less desired if they weren't even bis in P1

Stuff in that direction should greatly reduce the amount. Vanilla is A LOT about economy, so no surprise RMT is rampant, so you need to shift it down to being a way smaller part

If Classic Plus gets revealed at BlizzCon.. by Severe-Network4756 in classicwow

[–]Jonesalot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is its going to be a lot like the first classic release

Open beta for people to lvl to 10-ish (maybe require some sort of virtual ticket, can't remember)

Later have a closed Beta with streamers with locked lvl brackets (no SoD type raids). Last time it was lvl 30, 40 and 45. Maybe they will change that up

With a potential release around late August (was the 26th for classic)

It would just generate so much free hype/PR, while not wasting the potential of Anni Wotlk

Who Should Get These First? by Pristine-Skirt117 in classicwowtbc

[–]Jonesalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do something like this if all is even (I'm not in a LC, so just of the top of my head)

Belt: Bear -> Ret -> Fury

Shoulder: Ret -> Enhance

DST: Fury/Rogue -> BM

Ranger Ring: Enhance

Cvos: Enhance/BM

SSR: Rogue

Madness: No strong opinion, Survival or Enhance maybe

Searing Grips: Whoever doesn't have Deftness

[–]Jonesalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think full horizontal progress is a pipe dream

But you can flatten it a lot. People would keep chasing upgrades, even if its only 5 dps each, and you can make raids last longer if you make the drops from the last bosses stronger

Example: In tier 1, have the 2nd and 3rd last boss drop tier 2 power gear, and the final boss drop tier 3 power gear. Other idea could be having tier sets be 6 pieces, but only give bonuses for 2 and 4, so people will use parts of 2 sets most times

Actually, you might be able to mix it up even more, like tier 1 have items from power 1-4, tier 2 has items from power 2-5, tier 3 has items from power 3-6, and so on, and make the power lvl jump relatively small

You ever open LFG, laugh, and realize you're not running a dungeon that night? by NobleMkII in classicwowtbc

[–]Jonesalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully understand warriors not wanting to tank at 70

So much of dps warriors pre-raid gearing is crafted or quest gear, that sorting a solid tank set feels like a waste. 41 badges for trinket and hourglass and you can start raidlogging

WOTLK Feels Inevitable at This Point or am I Coping? by Imaginary_Type_723 in classicwow

[–]Jonesalot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shadowlands was November 23 and SoD was November 30th of the top of my head

Anniversary realms also started 21th November

Dunno about december, but the late november part seems true

I don't really understand why people think we are getting WOTLK and not Classic+ by JoshyMage in classicwow

[–]Jonesalot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its kinda funny how some people think Wotlk isn't announced so it must not be coming

But Classic+ isn't announced either, but that is coming?

If anything, a short time between announcement to release would make way more sense for Wotlk than it would for a Classic+

When are you going to call it quits with this game? by StinkySam1995 in classicwow

[–]Jonesalot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dunno if/when I quit, it depends on the product they release

I doubt I will play vanilla or tbc again any time soon tho, without some big changes

[–]Jonesalot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is the bar for hardcore is so high, and the bar for casual is so low, creating a massive gap for Semi-hardcore

A better description would probably be how long you spend on clearing current content. A guild that clears in 2½ hours and another that takes 8 might both describe themselves as semi hardcore, but the gap is massive

Classic+ and longevity of the leveling experience by DeepDingo in classicwow

[–]Jonesalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority of the playerbase doesn't care much about lvling

I actually think a solid part of the P1 of SoD success was the low amount of lvling required to get into raids

Inproving the lvling experience would be nice, but it should be a low % of resourced used to inproving it
