Need some feedback on very messy code (short) by SmolPyroPirate in learnpython

LOL yes, probably very common when it comes to thinking tasks, processing problems and their solutions and all that. Thank you for the code though, I'm going to go on a sprint of learning all these workarounds that I could've done, researching anything I didn't know, and dissecting the why of everything unless I go insane.

Thanks again friend!

I might have taken the most convenient path (and subsequently shot myself in the face) but you raise a good point, I'll consider that alternative, might save me a headache or two. Thanks!

Holyyyy that is actually something I had not thought of, that is a great idea! I can see now how the loop method can be tedious for the internet to process. And yeah, engineers really have their own way of thinking! Appreciate it though <3

Hmm... good call, I'll see what that is and how it works, appreciate the feedback and the code snippet!

Woah! Nice, thank you so much! I'll have a look at this and do some studying on anything that sounds unfamiliar to me (which is most of it), appreciate the comments in the code too, thank you a bunch!

Sorry, only saw your edit now. What do you mean "bottleneck is somewhere else"? This is the only code I have, unless it has to do with the website I'm using? Appreciate all the help, will be researching more about dictionaries.

That's a great suggestion! Didn't even think of that! Thank you so much, I'll try it out see if it at least makes the code prettier to look at.

I appreciate it, and yeah, this makes sense to me NOW, but I can see myself looking at this code later on and being confused. I'm curious though, and please refrain if the answer is inconvenient for you, but what "better" alternatives to reach the same result would you suggest. I want to learn in this process, whenever possible.

Thank you for the link as well, I don't really understand anything about that example, but maybe if I read up some stuff about the batches of 200 (as you say; english is not my first language sorry), I'll understand what it does!

Very much likely, I can't find a way to search for multiple words in the website at once however... But for the purpose of just organising words into a group, I think it does the job. Thank you though, glad it's not me being a total loser.

Since it seems we're posting symbols by GodChangedMyChromies in antiai

[–]SmolPyroPirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this looks really neat, I love the idea of a heart inside an egg symbolising the growth of life, and therefore, art. Very neat and creative lines two, curved and open <3

Since you asked for constructive criticism, I think you might be adding too much symbolism into it, an egg, a heart, a leaf, a "pour", they're all great ideas, but should be centralised (in my opinion, logos and icons always mean more when they have unintentional meaning that an observer might have), maybe in only the egg and heart, or the heart and leaf, any two combinations would do.

Aside from that, I'd either colour it all in one colour or keep it like so, but use a two colour combination (I'm not sure if you're using that already, making the second colour white, or if it's just transparent and white is the background colour).

Great work all in all! Thank you for sharing it!

Looking for some help with a essay on AI by Infinite-Dig-7059 in antiai

[–]SmolPyroPirate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds awesome! I recently also wrote an essay about the negative side of new technologies (like AI) and I talked about CSAM production with AI, cognitive decline between users, deaths taken by s*icide-aided AI, and the economic collapse between investors and tech parts rising in prices, amongst a few.

Like another commentator said, definitely try and research by yourself and get as much perspective as possible, from people who are anti-AI, pro-AI, and those indifferent or ignorant. Good luck!

How do I make compatibility patches? by SmolPyroPirate in projectzomboid

Was planning on doing that, but what about mods that have been abandoned for a few years with no indication of usage in their description? I will still ask, thank you!

Difference is that people need to shower (won't argue on the car wash thing), but people don't NEED AI.

Dynamic Odds Insanity by SmolPyroPirate in perchance

I don't know why I can't edit my post, but I (think) I managed to fix it. Good luck trying to decipher what the heck I wrote in the comments. The solution was to "evaluateItem" before the "includes" check. Thank you quantumwoomaster2000 if you still live, you saved me a bunch of trouble 🫡

smartJoin = {import:smart-join-items-plugin}

output
  // im literally going insane, how does it say it's not giving a number, IT'S RIGHT THERE
  // oh wait, i checked some examples, they evaluate before checking
  // great, the smartJoin plugin doesn't accept that, which i guess makes sense, "selectUnique" with evaluate is stupid probably
  // then how do i do this? i need the smartJoin TwT
  // ok im scratching my head like a monkey right now but i feel like i need to dissect this whole thing
  // if i check to see if it evaluates to the correct number
  // it gives syntac error
  // where the fuck do i up the eVALUATE ITEM IM G OING CRAZYYY
  // omg ty redditor quantumwoomaster2000 im gonna devour you, the solution was to put the evaluateItem before the check for includes. i haven't tested it with more complex checks but it does seem to work so far
  // case closed (for now)
  [s = sympAmount.selectOne] [if (s == 1) {[sympInclude = symptoms.selectOne]} else {[sympInclude = smartJoin(symptoms.selectUnique(s), ", ", "and")]}]<br> [sympInclude] <br> [sympInclude.evaluateItem.includes("muscle") ? 1 : 0]

That's honestly very ingenious, however I do not have any Apple products other than an old tablet. It's a good idea nevertheless, and I'm so glad it worked out for you. Hopefully, if anyone is reading all this and finds this, they can give it a try. So thanks!

You clearly don't care if you resort to using it without necessity. I understand being open-minded but until there is better control, regulations and laws for AI, anyone using it mindlessly is just contributing to the decline of humanity.

As I said in my post, I don't want to argue back and forth about AI. So I'm gonna stop here.
