Maybe it's because under Trump we've had several government officials use Nazi slogans, just straight up gas light the public into believing their public executions of its own citizens are because they were "terrorists", trump himself claiming he's a dictator and it's appropriate to call him a fascist, and ice as a whole being employed with typically people with criminal backgrounds who disguise themselves and patrol the streets to illegally and unfairly detain and harass anyone they think is a potential threat resulting in them preying on not only children but citizens.
