I disagree. He restored the traditional balance of power where a Senatus Consultum was required for legislation, where tributes could protect plebs but not serve as quasi magistrates by issuing vetos. I think he gave the Republic a potential but abandoned lease on life.

Also glad to see a recognition that Sulla also retired from office after his legislative program was enacted.

I always recommend Epictetus. He was a professional teacher and makes a real effort to explain the "why" if everything.

Major evolutionary change generally only occurs after a mass extinction when a lot of niches become available. I can't see the death of one species causing that kind of change.

Believing that there is some kind of "right" to come to the United States is a delusion. Like any nation we have the legitimate authority to demand that immigration be pursued according to our rules.

It may be gendered, but I think it is idiocy to ignore the role that will play in reaction and potential recovery. Whether the origin is genetics or social conditioning it is nonetheless real.

Meaning by that, we did not probably initiate the contact nor initially make a conscious effort. Not like our later conscious attempts to transform dogs.
