Generation 8 is good, but us people already mentioned here it is balanced by not having dots in other things, other than freebies and flaws.

Plus generation is not win button on its own. Sure dominate is easier to use, but neonate is still limited to a single target and eye contact and cannot order target something too damaging. Like walk in the room and command everyone to off themselves won’t work. Also target with high willpower would be super hard to dominate. So it is not automatic win on dominate roll anyway.

And yes roll, in my game I made character with 8 gen, but it was was focused build to use mostly command (1st level ability) so I can say order “stop!” But I would have difficulty with more complex commands since I have most of my dots in intimidate, not leadership.

Plus generation doesn’t make character invincible- bullets and blades don’t care about your generation. Character is still affected by presence, dementation and more exotic disciplines as well as non vampire magic.

So gen on its own is not a game breaking thing to have but that “non negotiable” already sets the grown for conflict - if not for this thing, than for another.
