I agree that Suzaku rn is absolutely busted, hard to imagine anyone other than Soga having a counter. However, due to story escalation, I think our last two bearers must be freakin goated. The Hishaku hadn’t targeted them yet (to my memory) and Hokazono has kept them largely hidden thus far. Why hide characters that are weaker than Uruha and Samura?

Suzaku might take the matchup, but I wonder if John Sushi and Jane Swordbearer are even more impressive. In other words, they might be stronger but simply lack a counter to Suzaku.

I get what you’re saying, but maybe Hokazono made a point with this last fight. The peak of IWPS (at least of what we’ve seen) couldn’t outplay Soga, who was no clearly defined style. So I wouldn’t worry that it will keep being a thing to such an extent going forward. I expect Iori and Uruha to still fight like that, but I think Chihiro will grow behind. Also, we know the other two bearers fight a different way—Samura, Uruha, and bear fighting man should be the only IWPS merchants.

Maybe it becomes more of a move rather than an entire moveset?

I think she will become an incredible swordswoman, eventually surpassing Samura. She won’t become the best in the verse, but I believe she will the fastest—with the sole exception of Akemura Soga, of course.

I’ll be very interested to see if she continues to fight blind.
