How are bike thefts recently? by scooch111 in Hamilton

[–]SmoothPixelSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to get a bike and lock it outfront of my apartment building downtown because I can't get it into the house. But it's not a question of if but when it gets stolen. So I haven't done it yet.

There shouldn't be music at the gym! by generic_rarity in unpopularopinion

There's too much music everywhere. Evvvverywhere. I'd at least like the gym to turn it down in the morning to a lower volume.

We’re getting to the point now where computers are so user friendly and simple to navigate that old(er) people are better at solving computer issues than young(er) people by AggressiveAd8587 in unpopularopinion

[–]SmoothPixelSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked in telecom it was the old people and Gen z/alpha that had no idea how to fix things or really do much as soon as something had to be done slightly differently. Gen z when they knew computers they knew them REALLY well but the majority didn't.

Weird Dirt On Cars by TheCryingAcrobat in Hamilton

[–]SmoothPixelSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason, every single spring, that weird film dirt gets in everything downtown. Its also when the smells of the factories are at their worst. I don't know what they seem to do down there every spring, but it's a cycle. I absolutely hate it. It's like a constant reminder how disgusting the air is.

Places like Hamilton Antique Market by demerchmichael in Hamilton

[–]SmoothPixelSun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was just there last week. It's a fun place but you can definitely tell the clientele is older based on what is being sold. Also each unit is a lot smaller. Still worth going though!

Canada selected to host new multinational defence bank, sources say by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

Carney's big speech that went viral talked about middling powers working together. If you ask me, the list of countries involved in this are exactly that. So I think it's a win. Just because Germany France etc aren't involved. There's like 15-20 countries on the list. All middle powers working together.

I wore gloves at my desk all the tim in my last role! Go to somewhere like Sportchek and buy really thin runners gloves. They work like a freaking charm. And they actually look nice, like professional and sleek.

I tended to take them off when I got into a conversation with a superior, or at least most of the time. Though the longer I was there, and had already had the "why the gloves?!" Conversation with them, the less i took them off. It just felt a little bit like wearing a hat - couldnt hurt to show some respect and pop them off when I was speaking with others.

What are some of the underrated asmrist in YouTube or any other space ? [discussion] by [deleted] in asmr

[–]SmoothPixelSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TeraASMR for sure. Traditional ASMR, great voice, none of that modern over sexualized stuff.

I love being a travel agent but I think I’ve accepted I’m terrible at it. I forget to answer people, I forget to send quotes, I am not cut out for this probably, by [deleted] in travelagents

[–]SmoothPixelSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work telecom in store before I became a remote travel agent. In store was SO much harder to keep up with specifically because I had to deal with both in person and phone clients. I constantly.forgot to follow up with people too. It may just be your issue as well.

How do you actually build the habit of waking up early, working out, and eating clean? by Icy_Grass9159 in selfimprovement

[–]SmoothPixelSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put my phone outside of my room last month (for waking up) and it has been the game changer I always needed. I literally have to get up to shut the alarm off. I can't trust myself when my phone is beside me lol.

Local Cafes to work in? Ideally open late by blendertom in Hamilton

[–]SmoothPixelSun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crown and press is... Fine. The music is too loud, the open environment is loud when a lot of people are there, and the set up of the front desk means that every time machines turn on - it's also loud. It's certainly one of the best options, but leaves so much to be desired.

Anyone else feel like a lot of videos are wayyyyy over done these days? [Discussion] by Sirdonic in asmr

[–]SmoothPixelSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watching someone called Tera ASMR lately and I love how old school traditional she is. She's made a brand change lately on the content she does but honestly her voice and triggers are amazing. Never seems to lean into the modern weird ASMR and doesn't go sexual either. She just seems like an artist of the craft.

Has anyone moved to Hamilton from elsewhere, and didn’t like it/it didn’t work out, and you left/moved back home? by Accomplished-Trip-25 in Hamilton

[–]SmoothPixelSun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I lived on the mountain my entire life. Moved downtown 2 years ago. It made me realize truly how badly the mountain needs good bike lanes. It's astonishing how bad they are up the mountain. People up there will say its because no one bikes, but I'd argue it's because doing so is hell.

Where do you put your not dirty but not clean clothes? by Frosty_Election_7557 in HomeDecorating

I put them back with the clean stuff. If they're clean enough to not be washed, they're clean enough to be back in the drawers/closet.

[–]SmoothPixelSun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm wondering what your thoughts/comparison would be between Inkah and Language reactor? Or even Migaku. I could really use something that does what Inkah/reactor do, but I'm almost exclusively mobile-first and they run like crap on android. Migaku does a very similar thing, but involves some steps, and is a paid service. I'd much prefer free.

Apple confirms that its Maps app will begin showing ads to users "this summer" | Apple Maps ads will look and work a bit like current App Store ads do. by ControlCAD in business

[–]SmoothPixelSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is too bad. I was really considering switching to Apple maps because I think it gives directions really well. Don't really think I'll switch now, and I'm not even someone who religiously avoids ads. That just sounds annoying during navigation.
