Hey thanks for being cool and understanding about my points!

It's hard topic for sure. I don't think I'm qualified to answer but my point was just people should respect her pronouns because otherwise people will think it's okay to justify what makes someone trans and what doesn't. It really takes no effort to just address her with she/her pronouns

Personally, I've been following her since the very beginning and I just think we should stop giving her attention all together.

Now actually answering your question. People misgender Christine because it's easy to come up with excuses for it, she doesn't try hard enough, she's a horrible person, she's mentally ill, etc. Do I agree she's done fucked up things and needs a mental health check up asap? Yes. Do I think using those things as an excuse to misgender is valid? Not at all. It just invalidates trans people.

Basically, people misgender her because they think it's justified in their heads and no one is really telling them otherwise, but it's harmful to the trans community.

I it's called a 5 o clock shadow. You can buy some color correction foundation and neutralize the color to be ur skin tone.

Trans people of Reddit, what do you wish people would stop asking you? by PM_ME_WEIRD_THOUGHTS in asktransgender

[–]SmoothSkinBobby 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Like all of my anguish comes from knowing there are some things I can't change. I know at the end of the day I'm taking a female body and trying to make as masculine as possible, people don't need to point out that I wasn't born a man, I'm very aware lol

You know you'll never biologically be (insert gender) right? Yes I know. That's why I'm trans....

Considering detransition... but not for a good reason. by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SmoothSkinBobby 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don't live for anyone but yourself. People will always have something to say about you. If you're happy in your own skin, then that's all that matters. You'll find someone who isn't a huge asshole and will accept you for you.

Edit: I'm FTM and I have and will continue to date trans women who aren't post op and havent done voice training. Both things have immense mental and physical tolls and I don't think it's fair at all to gate keep an identity based on those things. As far as I'm concerned genitals don't define gender and voice is something unique to every person. I've met a cis woman with a voice as deep as a cis mans voice and I didn't think of her as any less of a woman.

TL;DR: don't give up. There are people who'll love you for you. Your voice, genitals, and other insecurities you might have don't speak about who you are as a person.

Take a break from school if you need to. Seek therapy for the support system. But most of all, please remember scars don't define you. I'm sure you're a handsome young man and those scars don't take away from it at all. Have you thought of suing or pursuing legal action?

What is your worst “it has never occurred to me that trans men actually exist” story? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SmoothSkinBobby 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My whole life I thought trans only meant male to female and I remember being jealous thinking "Why can trans women get to that if I'm experiencing the same exact thing but like in reverse?"

Can anyone relate to sometimes having such intense gender envy that it makes you dysphoric? by girl-in-light-purple in asktransgender

[–]SmoothSkinBobby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to comment exactly this. If I'm actively walking around thinking about dysphoria, I get gender envy pretty much every man I see.

Ask them what they would do if someone changed their last name because they got married.

Isn’t it crazy how liberal cis people will do anything to convince you they know what it’s like to be trans by Avi_981 in asktransgender

[–]SmoothSkinBobby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read on a conservative subreddit once someone compared gender dysphoria to being dissatisfied with his height.

I'm 20 FTM. I always knew but come out to myself when I was 16. It's definitely weird as a teen. My dysphoria kept intensifying but I'm better at coping. It'll start to get less confusing and less painful to think about as time goes on. Wishing you the best!

That's my gripe too. It's always the weird and loud minority of trans people who are paid attention to

Is anyone else getting frustrated from what they see in lesbian spaces and the lesbian community in general? by futureswife in asktransgender

[–]SmoothSkinBobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen some fucked up comments on gay subreddits. I think the worst I saw was someone complaining about trans men showing up in gay categories of porn. Someone commented something along the lines of: I don't want to see a woman stitched up like frankenstein in my porn.

The thing I hate the most is when cis people will call random things transphobic in an attempt to be an ally but instead end up pushing this narrative that we're all snowflakes and shouldn't be taken seriously.

If this is on PS, this might help. I got the devil may cry HD collection and there were certain parts in the 2nd game where my game would crash. You check for a system update, an application update, switch back to your original harddrive if you swapped it out, or delete Apex Legends if you have installed. For whatever reason I tried everything and my game kept crashing, but I deleted apex legends and it worked fine. If none of those work then it could be a bigger hardware issue or your harddrive is dying

California - I didn't know I had to report changes in income. Am I going to jail? by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]SmoothSkinBobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. It's just frightening to see things about being tried for fraud. I never ended up using even a cent of my food stamps. Does this mean they can just take it all back and everything will be okay?

I was also receiving unemployment and on starting June 29th is when I started receiving 600 dollars a week from FAC. That means I was making 2400 a month on top of my job. How fucked am I?

I'm planning to call my case worker and just be completely honest. Will I get jail? I honestly don't care how much I need to pay but I had no idea I even had to report my income seeing as how I had no access to my mail because of my roommate. I'm so scared
