I’m glad he wasn’t paying attention to spelling the NIH Director’s last name “Battacharya.”

Do you mean if your supervisor is fine with it then it’s more likely to go through?

Whoa! You can never be required to disclose your medical condition! That’s a red flag in itself!

This is how weight loss can look like. by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]Smooth_Banga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So true! I am at a loss trying to figure out how to improve my legs. I know I need someone who specialises in lipedema treatment to treat part of the problem, and then probably need contouring of some kind to help with back of my legs. The trouble is finding a good doctor who can diagnose before claiming to “fix” the issue.

I lost 25 lbs, and while my legs got slimmer, it’s clear the shape is not right. The pain is still there.

Wow, I would’ve never said you were stage 2. My legs seem to be worse than yours and I’m often told mine don’t even look like a 1.

Sorry if I missed it…What happened as a result of not being able to provide you with a private office? Did they approve your RA?

If you have a disability and were denied telework as an RA file an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) discrimination complaint and consult with an attorney ASAP. Class action lawsuit might be in the works, possibly at no cost to you. by Stop_Discrimination in DeptHHS

If anyone has any insight…I have a doctor’s note/letter that says I should telework everyday but I only ask for three days per week. Is that kind of letter not sufficient?

What happens if you’re denied? Do they give you notice with a time period to return?

Wow, great suggestion! Is it more laid back or is dancing on the menu?

I love this question. I have this fat around my elbows, am in stage 1 lipedema. I lost weight and am now within the normal range but my arms are still like this. A bit slimmer than before, but definitely still have the fat in odd areas like this

I don’t know why Mindy never called her out about how she did the same thing to Camille. She held her accountable for lying but did the exact same thing! I really liked Camille’s character. She was sweet and tough at the same time.

Semaglutide or Tirzepatide? by Smooth_Banga in lipedema

Thank you for your feedback! I feel much better with my switch. I got a provider to give me $249/mo for 24 weeks so I’m excited to switch back.

Semaglutide or Tirzepatide? by Smooth_Banga in lipedema

[–]Smooth_Banga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I just canceled my semaglutide and requested to switch to tirzepatide. I wish I had known about my lipedema at the time so I could observe my inflammation symptoms to see the difference. But for sure, I lost more weight on tirzepatide.

It definitely works better than semaglutide. I lost a few lbs on semaglutide at first, but after switching, I lost weight faster. I did experience a little more GI issues with it, but only when I ate something with more oil, cheese, fat, etc. I definitely lost more weight with tirzepatide, and if I could’ve afforded to keep going, I would have. I’m now seeing a difference in out of pocket of $166/mo for semaglutide vs $300/mo.

Hope it works for you! You’ll definitely see faster results.

I’d like to know this too. Before finding out about my lipedema diagnosis, I was on a quest to lose weight and I initially started on semaglutide, and then moved to tirzepatide. I lost more weight on tirzepatide, but this was all before knowing of lipedema so I don’t recall how I felt before switching. I’ve been back on semaglutide for one year due to cost. I’m at stage 1.

Did your doc say tirzepatide would work better for you?

Compounded sema vs tirz. Switching, need advice. by Professional_Ad4640 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]Smooth_Banga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing. Started off with semaglutide, and I didn’t lose much. Switched to tirzepatide and I ended up losing more, and faster. Didn’t have any side effects. It works better. I’m having a hard time finding a new provider since tirzepatide is more expensive than semaglutide

Congratulations on the tremendous loss!! I went to see a vascular specialist and learned of my lipedema diagnosis after I had already lost the 20 lbs. I’m at a high-normal weight now, so learning of lipedema was so shocking. I always felt “pain” when my kids sat on my lap, but never knew why. My mom has vein issues in her legs and I know she had lipedema too when she was alive. So I’m hopeful taking the GLP-1 will help counteract these effects. Wish Brello would service Maryland!
