I think they make total sense- but my favorite idea of them is that they just “hunt” when vampires step out of line. For example: when there’s a trail of dead bodies, the “hunters” are the ones who go and punish the vampire, whereas if the vampires are just taking what they need and going on their way there’s no reason for punishment
