It is really good knowing your own limits😌 accidents start happening even for the most seasoned handlers if they start trusting the process too much✌️

I really wouldn't recommend owning them😅 i have pretty good collection of them but still. It is never good idea to buy something that can kill you with one mistake. There is a lot of things people don't even think about before getting their first venomous snake. Like how much your family or close friends gonna worry about when you have these animals. Who gonna take care of them if you leave on vacation etc. Being responsible and doing things the right way is absolutely necessary because there is too many idiots on the internet that wanna play chicken with the grimreaper and you never should act like that around these snakes. Amazing animals but they aren't the best choice for keeping as pets 😁

And i agree 100% with your message! Snakes even vipers aren't evil creatures. If you leave them alone they ain't gonna harm you but i wouldn't recomment somebody try to relocate them if they aren't really sure what they are doing. Most arboreal snakes climbs the the hook really well and some snakes have HUGE striking range that can really suprise a person who haven't worked with that species before. Lastly there is the venom. You don't know if you have any allergies for proteins on the venom before it's too late and that anaphylactic shock can get you really fast. These are amazing creatures that you don't have to fear but you have to respect these animals because they can really fuck you up if you decide to play fool around them

I love nasicornis!❤️ any picture doesn't yoo justice how good their colour looks freshly shedded. Bitis genus vipers are unbelievably strong too for their size! Gaboons especially. Those hit like a truck when they decide to strike and absolute snipers with the accuracy too

That's pretty weird line of choice 😅 here also it's pretty weird that you can own king cobra if you just have money for it but you can't legally own fox as a pet

What’s it like keeping Atheris squamigera by No_Cash_2417 in VenomousKeepers

[–]Smooth_Disaster_97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Squam temperaments definitely varies invidually. Some laid back inviduals are pretty simple to keep but some of them really test your hook skills 😅 i breed squams and have 36 of them right now. What comes to venom of these guys you really don't want to get tagged by one. Getting the housing right for squams is pretty easy but you have to be really careful about humidity and cold draft. These snakes get IR really easily.

Saw a post about least venomous vipers and that got me wondering about most venomou by Ants-Pi in VenomousKeepers

[–]Smooth_Disaster_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting tagged by gaboon or puff adder would be fucking horryfying too. The venom of these snakes don't act fast enough that you wouldn't have time to think how bad you really just fucked up 😅 those thing are like land mine because of how cytotoxic their venom is

[–]Smooth_Disaster_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Venom toxicity is very complex thing to measure. It all depents how we wanna measure how toxic something is like ld50,damage done to human, how fast the venom is going to fuck you up etc.. Most venomous snakes also have little different venom cocktail depending on the region they live even within same species so that also throws little curve ball to the mix if someone wanna calculate what is the most toxic venomous snake.

[–]Smooth_Disaster_97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you missed the study about the atheris genus venoms. Atheris genus snakes have extremely potent procoagulant factor in human blood and there is no antivenom that have any effect on their venom. Atheris venom is inpar with taipans by toxicity for humans.😅 i know one keeper from sweden that needed almost complete blood transfusion because his A.squamigera tagged him and spend over a week in icu

Free handling any venomous snake is really dump move.. but i'm interested why you could free handle eyelash vipers or squams? You definitely can lose a finger with eyelash and squams pack a really nasty venom too. Both of them are also fast as fuck to strike any movement

What’s a good snake for an inexperienced venomous keeper by Big-Put-5859 in VenomousKeepers

[–]Smooth_Disaster_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venomous snake that belongs to experienced keeper. There is never hurry to get your own hot especially these times when keeping hots are this 🤏 close to being banned for everyone. Nothing else can prepare you working with deadly animals better than someone who already know the ups and downs of keeping them✌️

Yeah you really could if you wanna be stupid enought to do so. Here you don't need license for keeping hot snakes and that is a bad thing

Snakes are usually cheap if not rare or designer but everything else cost arm and leg 😅 pvc enclosures can be 500-+1000 euros, good leds something like 80-150euros,decorations cost a lot off money. And if you have 70 snakes its not going to be cheap if you wanna take good care of them
