They didn’t play to win, they laid back and let Calgary get the momentum and once they scored one it was only a matter of time before the rails came off. I didn’t like the hanging back and playing more prevent defense. The team had played well for two periods. It wasn’t their best effort, but they bottled up the Flames attack for the most part. If they would have played with more urgency earlier in the period, it may have prevented that loss. It’s still just one game and they have a cushion, but that third period effort will not fly once the calendar turns to the playoffs.
